Position Summary

The Vice President of Corporate Communications and Marketing is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team and is responsible for leading the development and execution of marketing, communications, and public relations strategies across all OCHIN business lines. The person in this role is a strategic thinker who ensures that OCHIN’s marketing and communication strategies are aligned to and advance the organization’s mission and goals. Responsibilities are wide ranging and include, but are not limited to, stakeholder communications, media engagement, crisis communications, product positioning, and plans for inspiring employees. A key responsibility is to ensure that branding and communications reflect the organization’s commitment to diversity, equity, and belonging. This person will gather and use customer data and market intelligence to develop effective product marketing strategies. As leader of the Marketing and Communications team, this person mentors and coaches their staff to help them achieve their full potential and oversees the day-to-day activities of the department.

Essential Duties

Corporate Communications

  • Oversee corporate communications
  • Lead internal and external communications, ensuring coordination across all business lines
  • Partner with the CEO to develop the CEO’s presentations, speeches, statements, and other communications
  • Identify new ways to tell the OCHIN story and raise member voices
  • Engage with media to share the value of OCHIN and our members
  • Lead internal communications and ensure that staff receive the right message at the right time
  • Oversee communications plans and key messages for strategic initiatives
  • Partner with teams and leaders both inside and outside the organization to achieve organizational aims

Marketing

  • Develop marketing programs designed to demonstrate value and promote growth
  • Apply storytelling, data, and analytics in marketing planning and execution
  • Lead implementation of OCHIN’s marketing plans and operations
  • Oversee a consistent brand image across platforms, leading sub-brands and new business line development
  • Oversee social media and web-related initiatives
  • Establish and oversee communication standards (tone, structure, templates, tools) for the organization

Leadership

  • Serve as strategic advisor to the organization
  • Identify and manage team priorities, connect work to quantifiable outcomes, and lead to success
  • Support OCHIN’s journey in diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging
  • “Connect the dots” with internal and external stakeholders to identify areas of opportunity and alignment
  • Ensure professional development of assigned staff members
  • Embody the culture of service through exceptional customer service and meaningful partnership
  • Other duties as needed to support organizational mission and goals

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or related fields
  • Experience leading and managing highly effective teams and strategic initiatives across business lines
  • Experience in health care, health policy, and/or technology a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup culture

Work Location and Travel Requirements

  • This position is 100% remote. Work from home requirements are:
    • Ability to work independently and efficiently from a home office environment
    • High Speed Internet Service
    • It is a requirement that employees work in a distraction free workplace
  • Travel may be required based on business requirements for OCHIN Go-Live events, 1-2 trips per year
