Collins Aerospace is looking for a Manager, Quality Assurance to lead Quality Assurance and Technical Compliance teams including quality engineering, inspection, calibration, and NDT.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Leads Quality Assurance & Technical Compliance teams including quality engineering, inspection, calibration, and NDT.
  • Interfaces, coordinates, and communicates with other functional leads on the GM Staff (Operations, Engineering, Materials, Facilities, EHS).
  • Manages plans, guidelines, policies, and processes, to ensure the achievement of quality targets.
  • Manages implementation of organization projects and processes to ensure overall quality is continuously improving.
  • Manages the collection and analysis of quality information from multiple sources for use in developing long-term quality strategy and programs.
  • Manages production process analyses, ensuring quality standards are met and making recommendations for quality improvement.
  • Leads all internal and external audit preparation and execution activities to ensure the site maintains all active certifications.
  • Works to actively reduce/eliminate all escapes, scrap, rework, and repair and address any gaps to plan.
  • Looks for trends in repeat errors, COPQ, FPY, Delivered Quality, etc. and drive corrective actions.
  • Ensures the use of quality tools to drive problem resolution e.g., DIVE, 5Y’s, Fishbone Diagrams, etc.
  • Uses lean principles to drive Quality performance and participate in site continuous improvement activities.
  • Maintains all site Quality metrics for monthly reporting and analysis.
  • Guides and assists team to create and maintain detailed work instructions for Quality Assurance Processes.
  • Ensures inspection methodology is clear and robust to maintain compliance.
  • Works with Operations team to establish best in class manufacturing processes to drive out product quality variation.
  • Maintains and communicate team member coverage by area, including backups.  Ensure team availability is up to date and communicated.
  • Balance personnel assignments to support Operations delivery & quality performance.
  • Ensures that training needs and development opportunities are identified and fulfilled.
  • Hires and train replacement Quality personnel as needed.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years’ experience OR In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident "Green Card" holder.
  • Experience with MRP/ ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Strong Excel skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Lean Six Sigma certified.
  • Deep understanding of Zero-Defect Philosophy.
  • Basic knowledge of computer programming language.
  • Expert in AS9100 and NADCAP requirements for special processes (Heat treat, chemical processing, NDT, weld).
