Junior Accountant

Employment: Full Time

We are looking for a smart, motivated and excited individual who wants to grow themself professionally to fill our Junior Accountant position.  This position has multiple facets and we are interested in candidates that are eager to be part of an exciting and growing company. 

Responsibilities:

  • Review and process invoices for payment, including scanning invoices into the accounting system
  • Manage/reconcile credit card account- research and post credit card expenses including scanning invoices into the accounting system
  • Properly code invoices to the correct general ledger account
  • Reconcile vendor statements, researching and rectifying discrepancies
  • Update vendor information
  • Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payment status
  • Process expense reports and reimbursement
  • Assist in accrual accounts at month end, reach out to vendors as needed to estimate accruals
  • Work with cross-functional departments in order to facilitate continuous process improvement for timely invoicing and payments
  • Participation in month-end and annual financial closings
  • Assist with preparation and coordination of the audit process
  • Maintain fixed asset schedules 
  • Assist with other month end reconciliations and analysis as required

Qualifications:

  • General understanding of accounting principles
  • Previous accounts payable experience
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • High level of organization
  • Proficient with excel including ability to create pivot tables and V-lookups
  • Ability to communicate externally and internally with all levels of management
  • Ability to prioritize job duties

Preferred:

  • Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting
  • Minimum 6-12 months of corporate accounting experience
  • Intacct or any similar mid-market accounting software helpful
