Experienced professionals sometimes take a career break for a variety of personal and professional reasons. Returning to work after an absence of two or more years can seem daunting. To help with this transition, UTC’s Re-Empower Program is designed specifically to help you bring your knowledge, experience and creativity back to the workforce.

The UTC Re-Empower Program helps support talented and committed professionals as they rebuild their capabilities, enhance leadership skills, and continue their professional journey. Over the course of the 16-week program, experienced professionals will gain paid, on-the-job experience, have an opportunity to participate in sessions with leadership, develop personalized plans for success and receive coaching to guide their return to work experience. Upon completion of the program, based on performance, Re-Empower participants may have an opportunity to convert to a full-time role.

The first cohort of the UTC Re-Empower Program will run from January 22, 2018 – May 11, 2018.

Upon completion of the program, based on performance, Re-Empower participants may have an opportunity to convert to a full-time role.

Cohort II of the UTC Re-Empower Program will run from March 12 – June 29, 2018.

Minimum Program Qualification:
To qualify for the UTC Re-Empower Program, candidates should:
  1. Currently be on a voluntary break of at least two years or more
  2. Have a minimum of five years of professional work experience
  3. Have an interest in returning to work in a full-time position
  4. Have an ability to attend the Re-Empower Program Orientation at UTC Headquarters in Farmington, CT on March 12 - 14, 2018
  • Job Description:
  • The Central Engineering IT & Sourcing team is seeking a Sr. IT Projects Engineer. This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with our talented team in the development and adoption of common standards, provide rapid access to distributed expertise, and help facilitate use of tools, skills, and facilities.
  • This role requires a high level of analytical skills which will be used to manage software tools. In this role the selected candidate will collaborate with our supplier support team to ensure that problems are being handled in a timely manner. In addition the selected candidate will be involved with Enterprise IT tools as they relate to Engineering and will be expected to gain knowledge in how these tools are used and help support the engineering community in their use.
Responsibilities
  1. Work with users to help with issues as they arise.
  2. Create new users in the Standard Work system.
  3. Debug issues and create training for the new tools.
  4. Become the go to person for questions and problems.
Qualification:
  1. Strong skills in creating presentations using PowerPoint.
  2. Ability to collaborate with a team from UTC wide organizations to consolidate training information and assist in scheduling training meetings.
  3. Strong initiative and ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
  4. Results & customer orientated, strong communication skills
  5. Ability to work independently and with a geographically dispersed team.
  6. Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card)
Education:
  1. Bachelor’s degree from a four-year university required with a minimum of 5 years of experience
  2. Computer Science candidate with experience in tool development a plus.
  3. Advanced degree in a related field preferred
