JOB FAMILY SUMMARY:
Have a hand in almost every aspect of the product lifecycle, from research, ideation, conceptualization to implementation. Design wireframes, task flows, prototypes and specifications for creating and enhancing the look, feel, experience and functionality of features and services for company products. Work collaboratively and build partnerships with different teams across the organization including marketing, user research, content strategy, product management, and product development in order to effectively problem solve. Give and solicit feedback from designers and cross-disciplinary partners. Communicate and present to key stakeholders regarding user needs and design solutions. JOB SUMMARY:
Support the creation and evolution of our design system while serving as a bridge between Product Design and Engineering. Use React and other technologies to own our product’s front-end components as well as work with Product Designers on interactions and look-and-feel of our products. Ensure product teams have the building blocks they need to build and improve high quality, consistent, and accessible experiences for our users. Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug front-end code for our products. This includes developing software components such as frameworks, skins, utilities, and Internet-related tools, as well as determining hardware compatibility and/or influencing hardware design when applicable.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• 3-5 years of industry experience in programming web applications, mobile and/or large-scale enterprise products
• Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Experience with JavaScript frameworks like React and Angular
• Experience with WCAG Accessibility 2.0 Standards, and care about building components that are inclusive and accessible for all
• Experience with basic user experience (UX) guidelines, as well as the technical requirements to build a digital product
• Pixel-perfect precision and an eye for details that make a great user experience
• Passion for troubleshooting and problem solving
• Detailed oriented, professional and possesses a positive work attitude
• Communicate professionally both verbally and in writing
• Working knowledge of the latest technologies and design tools
• Familiar with the software design lifecycle (SDLC) and programming design patterns
• Knowledge of web standards
• Understanding of cross-browser, cross-platform, and cross-device compatibility
• Familiar with Agile methodology
• Writes clean semantic markup that follows the latest web standards and best practices

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Transform the design language into a clean and consistent coded component library
• Improve communication and collaboration between the engineering and design teams, helping to bridge UX best practices and production execution
• Bring together technical know-how and design aesthetics
• Partner with programmers, researchers, designers, and others to conceptualize and help deliver an effective user experience
• Drive and promote the adoption of the design system throughout the organization
• Advocate for the UX design process in the engineering domain
• Regularly collaborate with other designers and developers to evaluate work for technical feasibility
• Review new component impact on an application and recognize potential risks
• Create technical documentation that can be easily understood by peers
• Adhere to internal best practices and coding convention
• Build out interactive prototypes for research and visionware as needed
• All other duties as assigned
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
• This role regularly utilizes a computer, including the use of a monitor, mouse and keyboard.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet.
SCOPE OF SUPERVISION/AUTHORITY:
Duties are performed under limited supervision. Often responsible for planning and organizing their own work, which may or may not be directly related to general business operations of the company or its customers. Will receive training and guidance from manager as needed. Individual contributors may be required to regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance depending on the nature of the position. No direct management responsibility.
