In this highly visible role the selected individual will be expected to prospect qualified accounts, present 3BL Media’s services, negotiate proposals, and close business. This is a remote-based , or may be located in our Northampton, MA headquarters, and will have limited travel.

About the position
An experienced staff consisting of client services, tech support, marketing, and sales management will support you. Sales materials include strong testimonials and successful case studies from hundreds of well-known clients from Fortune 500 companies as well as non-profits and NGOs. The position has a strong emphasis on prospecting and the presentation of services through web sharing programs, telephone presentations and, occasionally, face-to-face meetings or conference and trade show attendance.
In this role, you will be expected to:
Make a weekly high volume of cold calls and respond to marketing leads to qualify and schedule (phone) appointments
Have excellent follow-up practices and strong documentation practices
Present 3BL Media services via phone and screen share
Build a pipeline of prospects and manage these prospects through the decision process to close business
Have a thorough understanding of 3BL Media’s services, features, benefits and advantages over competitors
Collaborate with colleagues on cross-sell and upsell opportunities
The Business Development Representative must be able to promote the benefits of the 3BL Media platform and services and differentiate us from legacy distribution services and DIY solutions.
Ideal qualifications for this role are:
Proven track record of successful sales and achieving goals
Ability to be a self-starter and work independently and remotely
Willingness to pick up the phone and pitch the product
Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years B2B sales experience, ideally in PR, communications or marketing industries
Interpersonal skills to listen and understand potential client needs
• Technologically savvy, with proficiency in Mac operating systems, Microsoft Office programs, CRM systems including Salesforce.com and internet research.
Experience and enthusiasm for the communications industry and genuine interest in sustainability and corporate citizenship
• Strong organizational, strategic-thinking and time-management skills
Superior writing and communication skills
Upbeat demeanor along with a sense of humor, a positive, can-do attitude, and the humility to regularly incorporate the feedback of others into the work processes.
Occasional travel required throughout the United States
