We are looking for an experienced leader to manage and grow an inspired and well functioning team of BI analysts and data scientists.

Today the team serves as the center of excellence for our foundational company KPI reporting and dashboarding. Building up on this foundation, you will drive the team’s journey to now enable self-service BI on a company level as well as to provide advanced analytics frameworks and to apply data science for insights and foresights in a strategic business context.

About the role:

• Own the full scope of BI reporting and research frameworks at SoundCloud
• Collaborate closely with executives and senior managers to inform company strategy by data
• Lead the process of transforming your stakeholders’ questions into core company KPIs, reports and dashboards
• Support your users with data interpretation and ad-hoc reporting
• Enable self-service BI by building the appropriate infrastructure and providing frameworks and best practices for building dashboards, Looker models and data visualization
• Partner closely with data engineers for managing and adjusting underlying data sources
• Be part of the foundational data organization’s leadership team: contribute to define and execute on goals, strategy, success metrics, roadmap
• Be a leader: enable collaboration, continuous learning, autonomy, and leadership in your team and its individual members

About you:

• You have strong background in BI analytics, BI engineering and data visualization.
• You love to connect with a wide range of internal users and stakeholders, like executives, senior managers, analysts and data scientists
• You have successfully led teams, incl. hiring and people management
• You are familiar with BI tools (Looker preferred) and know how to unlock them for self-service BI
• You are an expert in SQL and are familiar with at least one programming language suitable for data analysis (Python preferred)
• You have a sound understanding of data science
• You seek impact and outcome, not just output
