Hosting Services, System Administrator

Under the direction of the Manager, Systems Administration, assist the Hosting Services team with maintaining and monitoring the hosted environment. The Systems Administration team is responsible for the care and feeding of the hosted environments, new server builds, networking devices, SQL databases, client user interface, customer-facing web e-commerce path and other web related services. The System Administrator also provides customer support to hosted users, Network staff and authorized contractors to ensure satisfaction in the use of hosted network applications and tools.

Hosting Services, System Administrator Responsibilities:

  • Administer servers and related applications to provide a responsive, highly available and consistent computing environment
  • Apply operating system (OS) patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities
  • Build, configure, monitor and maintain VMware and AWS environments
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes
  • Manage and maintain periodic (e.g., daily, weekly, monthly, annual) data backups for servers, and network infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot the underlying Tessitura infrastructure, API and database
  • Create, update, and audit documentation as required
  • Participate in On-Call rotation including periodic over-nights and weekends
  • Serve as escalation point for Tessitura Network support teams

Required Skills:

  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Stack, Citrix, storage devices, VMWare, and Amazon Web Services
  • Working knowledge of enterprise monitoring applications
  • Familiarity with ITIL/ITSM processes such as Change Management, Incident Management, Lifecycle Management, Capacity Management etc.
  • Clear and concise oral and written communication to all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work on and prioritize a wide variety of complicated tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Works independently and as a team member in a high performance 24/7 availability environment
  • Effectively collaborates with peers, cross-functional teams and team leaders to achieve end-to-end product and process quality
  • Exercises discretion and judgment to ensure all Operational Service Levels and Security Standards are met
  • Strong Analytical and problem solving skills
  • SQL Server administration and T-SQL troubleshooting a plus
