Raytheon Technologies seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer with experience in Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) products and factory production support to provide top-quality products for the nation’s defense, in a cooperative and collaborative work environment. The qualified candidate will provide mechanical engineering support for the Common Engineering Department in support of the McKinney Consolidated Manufacturing Center. The selected person must be self-motivated and will work with a cross functional team including engineering, factory management, program management, and operations assembly and test. This position will reside in the Common Engineering Center that supports the Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Systems (ISRS) Mission Area.
*There will also be required weekend work approximately once every two months in support of a weekend rotation schedule.
Security Clearance: The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Job related activities include: • Troubleshooting systems failing test, identifying failure cause, and dispositioning hardware for repair • Operation of electrical and optical test equipment • Investigation of failure trends for root cause and implementation of corrective actions • Participation in teams tasked with resolving technical issues, improving test yields, and reducing test cycle time
Required Skills: • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering or related engineering field • Experience with EO/IR systems in a production environment • Experience with 3D CAD Solid Modeling Tools, CREO Parametric is preferred • Experience generating engineering drawings • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills • Ability to work autonomously and manage priorities on multiple tasks
Desired Skills: • Advanced degree in a related field • Root cause and corrective action experience • Experience in data analysis for identifying trends and improvement opportunities • Demonstrated leadership experience • Active Secret Clearance
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering degree with 5 years of related work experience OR MS Degree with 3 years of related work experience.
This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.
