The Senior Hardware/Network Engineer -On Smart Display Technology will work as part of a new team within OUTFRONT, as a member of our growing Technology team.
As a senior contributor within this cross-functional team, you will be instrumental in the transformation of public spaces into an immersive, dynamic, and interactive medium. In this role, you will be responsible for:
Embedded network device design and device selection
Embedded network configuration design
Collaboration with design teams to drive product improvements
Definition and execution of test methodologies to validate and enhance the robustness of ON.Smart embedded network hardware and configurations
Development of new embedded network tests, procedures and specifications
Analysis of experimental data to provide in-depth understanding of design features
BS or MS (preferred) in Electrical Engineering or technical degree with relevant coursework
7+ years relevant experience
Layer 2 and 3 network device (switches and routers) hardware and firmware design
WiFi and LTE modem integrations
Familiarity with 802.1Q, STP/RSTP, edge routing protocols, common network services (e.g., DHCP, DNS, NTP, PTP, etc), and network security protocols
Experience with local, edge, and aggregation network design
Exposure to reliability modeling and prediction a plus
Based in the Boston area; willing to be in our downtown office 2 – 3 days a week, with 25% travel required
