Senior Network Software Engineer
L3 is seeking a Senior Network Embedded Software Engineer with a background and experience in embedded real-time software development. This position requires an individual to support both new and existing software designs.
Active DOD Security Clearance is preferable, but will consider all qualified applicants.
An engineer in this position will be:
Responsible for leading projects
Developing and managing schedules
Providing responses to bid and proposals
Deriving software requirements
Adding features and supporting current designs
Work with interdisciplinary groups of engineers
Qualify for a USA DOD security clearance
Travel intermittently with projects if needed
Strong candidates will have a background in:
Bare metal and Embedded RTOS development
Optional: C#, ADA and other programming/scripting languages
Object-oriented as well as structured design methods
Development environments using Window, Linux and Solaris
Familiar with various source control repositories (GIT and Clearcase)
Have solid presentation and writing skills
Development and troubleshooting on embedded targets
Familiarity with software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, and peer review techniques
Execution of software development life cycles (Agile and Waterfall)
Excellent knowledge of operating systems such as: Linux, VxWorks, Linux, GreenHills Integrity, MQX, Unix, Windows
Working knowledge of RF propagation, signal processing, control systems, digital video/audio, networking, TCP/IP/UDP, RS-485, RS-232, I2C, low-level driver development and/or 1553 protocols, wireless communications and reading hardware schematics.
Candidate Required Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in embedded software engineering
BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or EE with embedded software experience, or equivalency
Solid programming experience in C++ with ADA and C a plus
Proven experience in embedded systems design and RTOS Experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.This position may be filled at a higher grade based on the successful applicant's skills, education and experience.Due to the nature of our work qualified candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
