Job Description:

Financial Analyst supporting multiple Operations Departments in Dow Jones reporting to the Senior Finance Manager. The position will help support the monthly forecast, annual budget, month-end process as well as provide ad hoc analysis for the businesses units and management where necessary.

This function will provide business partner support building strong relations and providing trusted insight, analysis and guidance to aid optimal business decision-making.

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly close reports and forecasts
  • Working closely with business partners to review and prepare forecasts
  • Generate revenue transfer journal entries from data warehouses. Release to business partners once approved
  • Compile weekly KPIs, revenue and circulation
  • Support variance and trending analysis exercises as required
  • Assist with the annual budget and monthly forecast process
  • Gain a deep understanding of the circulation organizations supported
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Bachelor’s degree with major in Finance or other related fields
  • One year of related financial experience (subscription revenue related experience preferred)
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills required
  • Ability to recognize problems, collect data, draw valid conclusions and define/suggest resolutions
  • Advanced Excel skills preferred, pivot tables, vlookups, ability to deal with large amounts of data.
  • Ability to learn new systems quickly (experience with PeopleSoft preferred)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse group of business partners
  • Must be a team player and have strong work ethic
