We are currently looking for a Logistics Analyst to join the Thales Avionics, a subsidiary of Thales USA team in Orlando, FL.
The Logistics Analyst is responsible to implement, maintain and monitor logistics and trade compliance processes for domestic and international shipments of Thales InFlyt Experience products and materials. This position will be responsible for preparing and maintaining all trade compliance (import/export) and hazardous material documentation requirements, as well as, ensuring proper shipment packaging materials, methods and processes are utilized.
Responsible for maintaining and revising processes and procedures to be used by the Shipping Department for shipping both domestic and international shipments.
Oversees freight carriers used in the transportation of products and materials, ensuring timely delivery in a cost effective manner.
Validates export classification values: ECCN, HTSUS and/or Schedule B numbers, and licenses used for exporting and importing.
Ensures accurate and timely filing of documentation for export shipments, including recordkeeping of both imports and exports in compliance with US Customs regulations.
Ensures compliance with export regulation monitoring in accordance with Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security, and Department of Defense.
Monitors freight carrier performance and resolves day-to-day logistics issues related to inbound/outbound shipments.
Ensures compliance with country specific shipping requirements.
Reviews, approves, and correctly charges departments for freight charges from all carriers.
Analyzes assigned aspects of corporate logistics to determine the most cost-effective or efficient means of transporting products and materials (transportation modes, routing, equipment, or frequency).
Participates in freight carrier management processes, such as negotiation, selection, qualification, or performance evaluation.
Interfaces with several areas within the Company such as Trade Compliance, Materials Planning, Procurement, Quality, Program Management and other groups to ensure logistics and shipment issues are resolved.
Develops, recommends and ensures packaging solutions meet customer, company and regulatory needs.
Creates and maintains packaging related instructions and provides training on those instructions.
Maintains applicable metrics, reports, process documentation, customer service logs, and training or safety records.
Skills and Experience:
AA/AS degree in a related field and a minimum of five (5) years of related logistics and shipping experience, or a high school diploma/GED with at least 7 years experience (electronics manufacturing and airline industries preferred) or a comparable combination of relevant education and experience.
Two (2) years of direct experience in U.S. Trade Compliance
Professional Certifications in Supply Chain or Logistics or Export Compliance a plus
Ability to conduct product and material research for trade compliance classifications
Strong working knowledge of hazardous material transportation requirements
Strong working knowledge of ATA Specification 300: Specification for Packaging of Airline Supplies; and related packaging, storage, and shipping practices for electronics
Self-starter with good analytical and organizational skills
Ability to schedule and complete tasks on time
Ability to work in a team environment
Possess excellent training and coaching skills
