The Edge of Innovation: Women Using Tech to Rewrite the Rules
Empower Her: Advancing Women in the Workplace and Beyond
Women have made huge strides in tech, but there’s still more to be done. Elspeth Velten, editor-in-chief of Good Housekeeping, brought three female founders to the stage to discuss what is starting to shift in the industry and where barriers still exist: Basha Rubin, cofounder of Priori, Kaitlyn Albertoli, cofounder of Buzz Solutions, and Milena Berry, cofounder of PowerToFly. Berry’s company works to literally put dollars in women’s pockets by connecting tech companies to a powerful pipeline of female talent, while Albertoli is using AI to make advancements in an industry that is struggling to progress: electrical utilities. At Priori, Rubin has helped companies save millions on outside counsel by connecting them with a network of vetted lawyers. This panel was originally as part of The Female Force, presented by Hearst Magazines.

Originally from Bulgaria, Milena moved to New York City just one week before 9/11 to pursue a Master’s at NYU’s Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP). Before launching PowerToFly, she played key roles in several startups and served as the CTO of Avaaz.org, where she helped scale the platform to over 30 million members.
A sought-after thought leader, Milena frequently speaks on the future of work, AI in recruitment, upskilling, and the evolving landscape of workplace inclusion. Her work with PowerToFly has been featured in Business Insider, and she was recognized as one of Fast Company’s Most Creative People in Business in 2015. However, she is proudest of her wife Andrea Breanna and their 4 her proudest achievement remains raising her four children, who continually challenge her to redefine work-life balance.
