About the Team:
You will be part of a broad team of data scientists, technical product experts, data engineers, data stewards, architects and testers. We make up the Platform AI organization where we focus on developing scalable data science and data services as products. Those products embed AI/ML and algorithms into Medidata core experiences to provide the next generation of features and functionality to solve the most challenging problems in clinical studies and healthcare.
Responsibilities:
- Guide Platform AI strategy and execution, and define how the business can create additional value through the development of algorithms and other uses of AI
- Lead the AI Platform-as-a-Service team, inclusive of data science, algorithm development, data engineering and architecture roles necessary to build scalable AI capabilities
- Implement a scalable process to deploy and maintain AI technology – including architecture, infrastructure and AI Development Lifecycle
- Guide AI development based on experience with deep learning especially GenAI tech stack and GPU-based AI services
- Collaborate with partners across the organization to identify and prioritize data science use cases
- Grow data science talent through role definition, career pathing, and development
- 7+ years of work experience in a Data Science domain
- 4+ years experience in people management and team leadership
- Advanced degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field or equivalent work experience
- Experience leading data science practices and promoting data science value across the business and to diverse audiences
- Expertise in data science, modeling, machine learning, and analytics
- Record of building successful data products and services end-to-end, from discovery, strategy, and development to phase out
- Experience in the digital healthcare industry
- Must have hands-on experience developing code and cloud infrastructure
As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location.
The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the NYC Metro Area is $157,500 to $210,000.
Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata's non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
