You will lead architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and ensure delivery of secure, reliable, and scalable data solutions. This role emphasizes technical leadership, collaboration, and operational excellence, while fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
Job Description and Requirements
Your Role in Action
Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, promoting collaboration, knowledge sharing, and professional growth.
Drive architectural decisions for ETL/ELT pipelines, orchestration frameworks (Airflow/Prefect), and transformation layers (dbt).
Oversee design and implementation of analytics-ready data models (dimensional schemas, SCD strategies, semantic layers).
Ensure adherence to engineering best practices: clean code, modular design, CI/CD, automated testing, and code reviews.
Collaborate with stakeholders to align technical solutions with business objectives and analytics needs.
Champion governance, observability, and compliance frameworks across all data workflows.
Manage performance tuning and cost optimization for Snowflake, Databricks, and related cloud data platforms.
Facilitate architecture reviews and contribute to design decisions for scalable, fault-tolerant systems.
Communicate effectively with leadership and cross-functional teams to provide updates, resolve blockers, and ensure timely delivery.
Your Skills
Core Requirements:
Proven experience leading technical teams in data engineering or analytics-focused development.
Strong programming skills in SQL and Python; hands-on experience with ETL/ELT orchestration tools (Airflow/Prefect).
Expertise in dbt for transformation workflows and analytics modeling.
Familiarity with Snowflake and/or Databricks for large-scale data processing.
Solid understanding of data modeling principles, incremental strategies, and schema design for analytics.
Knowledge of data quality frameworks, lineage tracking, and governance in multi-tenant environments.
Familiarity with CI/CD, automated testing, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to drive architectural decisions and mentor engineers.
Nice to Have:
Exposure to Spark for distributed transformations.
Experience with streaming ingestion (Kafka/EventHub) and real-time data processing.
Familiarity with cost/performance tuning in Snowflake/Databricks.
Experience enabling self-service analytics for internal stakeholders.
Working knowledge of Terraform/Pulumi for infrastructure-as-code in data engineering.

This position is eligible for total compensation which includes a competitive base salary, an annual performance bonus, and long-term incentives.
The expected salary range for this role is between following values:
232 000 and 348 000PLNThe final offered salary will be based on several factors, including but not limited to the candidate's depth of experience, skill set, qualifications, and internal pay equity. Hiring at the top end of the range would not be typical, to allow for future meaningful salary growth in this position.
