Title: Data Engineer
Location: 1414 South Tryon Street, Charlotte, NC 28203
Duties: Design, develop, and maintain Alteryx ETL Workflows specifically tailored for Power BI and Tableau environments. Support and enhance continuous improvement efforts by tuning Alteryx workflows, refining process controls, and upgrading data platforms with a focus on these visualization tools. Provide expert guidance and hands-on development for deploying Alteryx flows and managing changes across multiple environments. Collaborate closely with technical teams and business owners during design and implementation phases to align visual analytics with business objectives. Create database Scripts using Postgres SQL, Sybase, Oracle PL\SQL which can be directly used by Dashboards, also Debug and resolve issues that cause production report failures, ensuring seamless delivery of reports through Power BI and Tableau interfaces. Assist in performing data analysis, cleansing, and wrangling from diverse data sources using Alteryx. Designer and develop insightful reports, conducting thorough testing and data validation to ensure data quality and accuracy. Tracking project requirements using Jira stories and Optimize existing Power BI and Tableau reports, addressing long-running queries to ensure timely delivery. Work with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and implement effective visualization solutions. Adhere to best practices in data engineering, including analysis, requirement specification, design, development, testing, and implementation, with a focus on Power BI and Tableau applications. Deliver assigned tasks on time, escalating issues when necessary, and mentor junior team members by conducting code reviews, workshops, and documentation reviews in the context of Alteryx, Power BI and Tableau development.
Requirements: Requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering a closely related field plus five (5) years of progressively responsible experience as an Engineer, Analyst, Consultant or related position performing developing, design within data engineering or software development. Must have experience with the following: designing, developing, and maintaining data integration/ETL data pipelines from various data sources and data formats; implementing and applying knowledge of data quality best practices and data governance principles; implementing, managing, supporting, and developing with AWS Athena database and cloud technologies; working with ETL/BI tools such as Alteryx, Tableau and PowerBI; working with programming languages and databases such as Postgres SQL, Oracle PL/SQL, Sybase,; working with job scheduling and monitoring tools, including Control-M; and using development languages and technologies, including Git (Bitbucket or GitHub), Jira.
For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary for this position is $154,669/yr, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation.
