About the job
Technical writers plan, create, and maintain educational content as an integral part of the engineering or user experience. The content is often in the form of documentation, but may also be UI text, sample code, videos, or other educational material. Regardless of the content medium, technical writers are distinguished by their abilities to explain complex topics in a way that’s useful to their audience.
Additional Information:The US base salary range for this full-time position is $121,000-$181,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

- Edit, clarify, and proofread documents written by others, and coach non-writers on ways to improve their writing skills.
- Work with other technical writers to produce high-quality technical documentation of our security products and infrastructure.
- Analyze complex security concepts and capabilities into clear and easy to understand documents with a well defined and intentional information architecture.
- Manage documentation for the specific audiences, including, regulators, Google engineers, customer engineers, executives, or other technical decision makers.
- Work with stakeholders to define and evolve the documentation strategy, set expectations and provide regular progress updates.
