Preferred qualifications:
- 5 years of experience as a front-end developer, UX Engineer, creative or design technologist, or in a prototyping design environment.
- Experience with ES2015+ or TypeScript and modern libraries/frameworks (e.g., Node, Lit, React, Angular).
- Experience developing user interfaces and designs on Android.
- Experience working with AI research scientists and SWEs to iterate on model capabilities.
- Experience with implementing and iterating with AI and ML within prototypes and products.
The AI Imaging and Video (AIV) team under the AI Innovation and Research team within Platforms and Devices is looking for a UX Engineer to help design and implement research and product ideas into tangible prototypes that can validate experiences we intend to ship across Google products.
You will be working with Product Managers, UX, Software Engineers (SWEs), and Research Scientists on iterative cycles of design and rapid prototyping. Your work will directly influence the future of Google’s AI experiences for everyday consumers, including Pixel Camera and Google Photos.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $142,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. - Work with Product Managers and UX Designers to create mocks for product outlook for the future of the space.
- Collaborate with Researchers and Software Engineers to implement solutions to address problems and answer questions.
- Develop different types of prototypes to support validation of ideas, including technical feasibility, user interaction, and quality.
- Design and develop the front-ends of user-facing products, bringing a human-centered approach to brilliant research and products.
- Influence partner user experience teams with designs and applications that showcase the tech and user outcomes.
