Job Details

The Client Services Team Lead, Corporate Actions (C12), will be a critical leader responsible for overseeing and managing a team of client service professionals dedicated to the complex and time-sensitive domain of corporate actions within Asset Services. This role requires an experienced leader with deep expertise in corporate actions processing, client relationship management within this specialized area, and a proven ability to navigate regulatory requirements and market practices. The successful candidate will ensure the accurate and timely communication and processing of corporate action events for clients, drive operational excellence, and foster a high-performance, detail-oriented team culture.

Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Management
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of client service specialists focused on corporate actions, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and identify specialized training and development opportunities related to corporate actions for team members.
  • Manage team workload, allocate resources effectively, and ensure adherence to strict deadlines, service level agreements (SLAs), and key performance indicators (KPIs) specific to corporate actions processing.
  • Facilitate team meetings, promote open communication, and resolve team conflicts or operational issues efficiently.
Client Relationship Management & Corporate Actions Expertise
  • Serve as a primary point of escalation for complex client inquiries and issues related to corporate actions, ensuring timely and accurate resolution.
  • Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with key institutional clients, understanding their specific holdings, entitlement calculations, election preferences, and reporting requirements for corporate events.
  • Proactively communicate upcoming corporate action events, provide detailed explanations, and guide clients through election processes.
  • Ensure clear, concise, and accurate communication of corporate action announcements, impacts, and associated risks to clients.
  • Collaborate with internal operations, compliance, and product teams to ensure seamless client communication and processing of corporate action events, including voluntary and mandatory actions (e.g., dividends, mergers, tender offers, rights issues, stock splits).
Operational Excellence in Corporate Actions
  • Develop, implement, and optimize client service processes and procedures specific to corporate actions to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Oversee the monitoring of corporate action event processing, from announcement to payment/settlement, ensuring strict adherence to market deadlines and internal controls.
  • Utilize client feedback and operational data to identify trends, pinpoint areas for improvement in corporate actions service delivery, and drive continuous enhancements.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant market regulations, internal policies, and industry best practices pertaining to corporate actions and asset servicing.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, guiding the team and clients through complex corporate action scenarios, including tax implications and market specific nuances.
Strategic Contribution
  • Contribute to the strategic planning and goal-setting for the corporate actions client services function, aligning with broader Asset Services objectives.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects aimed at improving the overall client experience, enhancing corporate actions technology platforms, and optimizing operational workflows.
  • Stay informed of industry developments, regulatory changes, and new corporate action event types to proactively advise clients and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. Master's degree or relevant industry certifications (e.g., CSC) preferred.
Experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in asset servicing, corporate actions operations, or a client-facing role directly supporting corporate actions within financial services.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role, managing a team of client service or operations professionals in a corporate actions context.
  • In-depth knowledge of various corporate action event types (e.g., dividends, interest payments, mergers, acquisitions, tender offers, rights issues, stock splits, redemptions).
  • Strong understanding of financial instruments, global market practices, and regulatory frameworks impacting corporate actions.
Skills
  • Leadership & Team Development: Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams in a technically complex domain.
  • Corporate Actions Expertise: Deep understanding of the full lifecycle of corporate action events, including reconciliation, tax implications, and settlement processes.
  • Client-Centric Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex corporate action scenarios clearly and concisely to sophisticated institutional clients.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of interpreting complex corporate action announcements and resolving client issues effectively under pressure.
  • Operational Acumen: Highly organized with strong attention to detail, capable of managing multiple priorities and strict deadlines inherent in corporate actions processing.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with corporate actions processing systems, global custody platforms, CRM software (e.g., Salesforce), and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Regulatory & Risk Awareness: Solid understanding of regulatory compliance and operational risks associated with corporate actions.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-volume environment and adapt to evolving market and client demands.
