Skills and Competencies 

  • 1-2 years of experience with credit analysis primarily, experience in the banking industry, insurance companies or asset management is a strong plus.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Word and PowerPoint; PowerBI, Microsoft Excel skills are required.
  • Validated and well-developed analytical and modelling skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication capabilities.
  • Demonstrated capability to achieve key objectives within established timeframes.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment and prioritize tasks accordingly.
  • Python programming and Visual Basic for Applications knowledge is a plus.
  • Banks, Financial institutions and/or Insurance companies regulatory framework knowledge is a plus.

Education

  • Minimum undergraduate/ first level degree in economics, accounting, engineering, business administration, statistics, actuarial science or similar (e.g. bachelor’s degree, or equivalent qualifications).

Responsibilities

  • Perform preliminary credit analysis to support ratings, research, analytical outreach, and presentations, following mentorship provided by team lead. Examples of analytical work include:
  • Quantitative assessment of financial documents, asset performance, and economic/market data, qualitative assessments of business strategy, financial policy, governance, and other factors, as well as analysis of
  • Bond indentures and other legal documents.
  • Reading legal documents and contracts to understand issuance terms, structures, covenants, and guarantees.
  • Preparing financial spreadsheets and charts, analyzing data, building, and updating financial models and analytical tools, and writing analytical commentary.
  • Identifying trends in data and use analytical ability, applying judgment to form well throughout credit conclusions.
  • Demonstrate the ability to understand and identify key factors that affect credit ratings under full supervision and mentorship of lead analysts.
  • Support credit monitoring/surveillance of issuers by e.g. preparing data for surveillance, periodically updating preliminary components of analysis, and initiating/bringing up deeper credit reviews when vital.
  • Perform certain routine administrative and other ad hoc credit-related tasks as advised by direct supervisor.
  • Work as a team with other Associates and Analysts under overall supervision of the direct manager.
  • Participate in external meeting with issuers, financial advisors, & other intermediaries.
  • Manage data and continuously improve role's data base.
