The Legal Support Specialist is a non-attorney role, responsible for providing legal support to the Citi Technology, Operations, & Privacy Legal team with respect to information security incidents, including with respect to data privacy issues.  This role requires a pragmatic, proactive professional with an understanding of the subject matter or who is interested in and eager to learn about the response to information security incidents and data privacy issues.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for legal support activities related to the disposition of information security incidents and/or data privacy events.
• Reviews facts, relevant laws, and applicable legal analysis to ensure that consideration has been given to all appropriate factors in assessing the need to make, and the manner of making, customer and/or regulatory notifications following information security and/or data privacy events.
• Prepares, processes, reviews, maintains, and tracks legal documentation under direction of cybersecurity and privacy lawyers.
• Will need to execute multiple and complex tasks, often under tight deadlines.
• Help safeguard Citigroup, its clients, and assets by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations; applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct, and business practices; and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.
• Assist with other special projects within the Technology, Operations & Privacy Legal team as requested and when time permits.

Qualifications:

• 2-5 years of relevant experience, preferably with some experience working in a corporate legal department or law firm or with Cybersecurity or Data Privacy
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, timeliness, efficiency, responsiveness, and workload management.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook.
• Knowledge of legal customs and practices.
• Certified Information Privacy Professional and/or other data privacy certifications is preferred.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced and high-volume practice, prioritize competing demands, and problem solve creatively.

Education:

• Bachelors/University degree or equivalent experience.

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$62,620.00 - $87,380.00
