Primary Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and troubleshooting server performance. Troubleshooting system and server errors. Reviewing system error logs and user-reported errors. Analyzes, logs, tracks, and resolves software/hardware matters of significance pertaining to networking connectivity issues, servers, and applications to meet business needs
  • Administer and maintain Windows and Linux servers, ensuring high availability, security, and compliance.
  • Perform OS installations and manage server builds (Linux/Windows/VM/Physical).
  • Manage virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere) including:
  • vMotion and Storage vMotion
  • VM deployment from templates and OVF
  • VMTools/hardware upgrades
  • VM snapshots
  • vCenter and ESXi upgrades
  • Support and maintain faxing solutions (RightFax, XMedius) and secure file transfer platforms (MoveIt, WSFTP, GoAnywhere)
  • Administer enterprise printing solutions (Windows Printer, VPSX Printing, Printer Logic, HP Printing)
  • Manage email systems (O365) and user administration (AD, LDAP, NIS)
  • Monitor infrastructure performance and availability; identify and resolve potential bottlenecks
  • Implement security best practices, including patching and vulnerability remediation (Tanium, WSUS)
  • Perform periodic maintenance activities such as Rapid Recovery (RR), hardware/firmware upgrades, and OS patching
  • Troubleshoot servers through console (ILO/HMC experience preferred)
  • Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, processes, and troubleshooting guides
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of compute and related services
  • Participate in 24x7 operations support and on-call rotation
  • Ensure compliance with ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem Management)
  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of experience in compute administration and infrastructure operations (L2+ support)
  • Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere and virtualization technologies
  • Working experience with AIX LPAR migrations, Solaris Zones, and Linux virtual machines
  • Solid knowledge of Windows Server Administration (2016, 2019, 2022) and Linux OS (RHEL 6/7/8)
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Chef, Jenkins, Terraform)
  • Familiarity with ticketing tools (ServiceNow, Rally)
  • Knowledge of file system management (LVM) and backup monitoring
  • Solid understanding of UNIX system files, boot processes, and run levels
  • Proven excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Citrix administration and additional Linux server management
  • Scripting experience in Shell, Python, PowerShell
