Title: Senior Software Engineer

Location: 7 World Trade Center, 250 Greenwich Street, New York, NY 10007 (Principal place of business – telecommuting permitted)

Duties: Work with software tools to design and develop applications and systems. Deliver code changes related to bug fixes and new feature development in new and existing software systems. Write and maintain unit tests to ensure test coverage meets or exceeds organizational standard. Collaborate with Agile Squad to deliver prioritized business value through software solutions. Communicate clearly with technical leadership to express ideas and approaches through the pull request process. Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to backlog grooming, story estimation and retrospectives. Learn and improve existing knowledge in libraries, technologies, and platforms relevant to organization. Develop and program complex
features for core analytics and cashflow engines. Interpret business requirements in collaboration with Business Analyst team. Provide input into technical design at the story and/or module level. Perform bugfixes/ enhancements to existing software products. Investigate and find root cause for software problems reported by clients. Participate in regular code reviews and evaluations in order to understand clean code design, as well as receive continuous feedback on contributions to the team. Telecommuting Permitted (100% telecommuting position. Will consider applicants resident in the continental U.S.).

Requirements: Requires a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field plus two (2) years of experience as a Software Engineer or in a related position performing software development and designing technical solutions. Must have experience with the following: architecting, designing, developing, and implementing solutions to support enhancements and bug fixes in existing and new applications; applying knowledge of Core Java, Multithreading concepts, design patterns, and software development methodologies, including Agile, and Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment for applications development; working with C++, PL/SQL, Postgres, Python, Unix, Shell, GitHub, BitBucket, Oracle, and Confluence; working with open source code and frameworks; and using build tools, including Maven and GIT. For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $131,997 to $169,000/yr, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody’s also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
