Compensation Range: $43900-$53900 

Compensation may vary based on applicant's work experience, education level, skill set, and/or location.  

Job Purpose

Plans and coordinates activities concerned with installing equipment, investigating and resolving customer reports of technical problems with equipment, and eliminating future operational or service difficulties by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

-Maintain Inventory Cells & Parts
-Building Batteries
-Installed cables on new batteries including accessories
-Outside service if required- Travels to customer sites to evaluate, diagnose, and repair customer’s equipment including washes, cleans, and neutralizes customers’ batteries at customers’ location. Ability to perform discharge tests, evaluates results, and makes necessary repairs.
-Assists with the installation and/or removal of motive power batteries.
-Removes and disassembles cells and inspects parts to detect defects.
-Replaces defective parts, reassembles battery, and fuses lead parts with gas torch
-Adds acid or water to obtain specified concentration
-Diagnoses and repairs batteries, reads meters and adjusts charge parameters to control time and flow of current through battery.
-Installs, provides preventive maintenance, and repairs to batteries
-Operates material handling equipment per OSHA requirements.
-Performs inspections and analyzes findings to determine source of problem, and recommends repair, replacement, or other corrective action
-Maintains records of performance reports
-Maintains a safe, orderly and clean working environment- clean warehouse in service area at the end of the day.
-Assist Shipper / Receiver
-Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications 

  • A high school diploma or equivalent; or industry related experience and/or training in Installation, Maintenance, and Repair; or equivalent combination of education and experience in Manufacturing and/or Production

  • One to two years’ industry related experience; or equivalent combination of technical education and industry experience. 

  • A basic mechanical aptitude

  • Previous experience working with hand and power tools.

  • Forklift license certificate

  • Ability to read and write English fluently

Preferred Qualification 

  • A basic electrical understanding

  • The use of test equipment and reading schematics.
    Electrical experience in troubleshooting or repairs, i.e. auto, boat, truck

General Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds/11.5 kilos on occasions.
