Job Details
The Products team is responsible for developing and delivering the future of payments in Central America and the Caribbean. This role will be based in Puerto Rico — a market rapidly emerging as a strategic hub for blockchain and stablecoin innovation due to its favorable legal framework, Genius Act incentives, and unique role as a gateway to the U.S. and North America.
Approximately 30% of the role will focus on managing and optimizing traditional and current Visa digital payment products for issuing clients in Puerto Rico, having full P&L accountability for product delivery across Puerto Rico’s clients. The remaining 70% will be dedicated to work for the entire Central America and Caribbean Region as the lead for the expansion, deployment, and commercialization of blockchain, stablecoins, and crypto-enabled payment solutions, in close collaboration with the Director of Visa Crypto Product & Solutions.
This includes leveraging Puerto Rico’s growing ecosystem of licensed crypto exchanges, FinTech’s, and blockchain infrastructure providers — such as Rain and other strategic partners — to accelerate adoption, revenue growth, and Visa’s market leadership in digital assets.
Role Responsibilities:
Traditional Payments Scope (30%):
- Manage and optimize Visa’s traditional and current digital payment product portfolio including digital issuance, Visa Token Services, Visa Passkey, and Intelligence Commerce for issuing clients in Puerto Rico
- Maintain and grow client relationships, identifying opportunities for product enhancement, cross-sell, and revenue growth.
- Execute go-to-market strategies for Visa’s core consumer payment products in Puerto Rico.
- Collaborate with cross-functional regional teams to ensure operational excellence in traditional payment delivery for Puerto Rico’s clients.
Blockchain/Digital Asset Scope (70%):
- Lead the end-to-end deployment of blockchain, stablecoin, and crypto-enabled payment solutions, including:
- Coordinate the technical integration with Visa’s payment infrastructure via blockchain APIs, SDKs, and smart contracts.
- Collaborate with multiple teams in Visa in the Stablecoin infrastructure design (issuance models, collateralization, on/off-chain settlement).
- Tokenized value propositions for cross-border and merchant settlement use cases.
- Oversee regulatory compliance for digital asset products under OCIF, SEC, FATF, and relevant U.S. and LAC frameworks.
- Build and manage strategic partnerships with licensed exchanges, fintech enablers, blockchain infrastructure providers, and regulators in the Central America and Caribbean Region.
- Monitor and interpret global and local regulatory changes impacting digital assets and adjust product strategy accordingly.
- Represent the Central America and Caribbean Region at regulatory consultations, industry forums, and blockchain standardization bodies.
- Provide internal training and knowledge transfer to upskill Visa teams in blockchain architecture, consensus mechanisms, custody solutions, and compliance.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
