The TEE Test Equipment Engineering includes all of the engineering disciplines responsible for systems design & test on all Raytheon Test Equipment products. Our engineers are responsible for all elements of the development lifecycle for test including: test requirements, test system design, flight simulations, hardware-in-the-loop, computer-in-the-loop, advanced engineering prototyping technology, flight operations for manned and unmanned vehicles, environmental testing, environmental characterization and engineering laboratory management. We are hands-on, designing with the latest technology and tools, and integrate state of the art test solutions with the most advanced engineering systems in the world.
As a Systems Engineer, you are accountable to coordinate across all engineering teams to define, design, and document Test Environment capabilities and requirements. You must be a systems thinker, able to see the “big picture”, and have the in-depth knowledge of development, production, User Operations, and embedded test process and practices. As a Test Systems Engineer, you will define and influence how prime hardware will be tested at every level (from component to All-Up-Round) to ensure robustness and efficiency.
In this role, you will experience and gain working knowledge of developmental test process, test set-ups and integration, test equipment design with transition to the factory, and verification / validation of product hardware using proven test systems, methodologies, and techniques. Additionally, you will identify and understand technology risks and system design concepts to make critical technical outcomes by understanding impacts to the program.
What You Will Do
- Utilize your knowledge of models, simulations, test beds, prototypes, hardware integration, hardware manufacturing, warfighter (User) methodologies, and embedded test protocols to ensure comprehensive lifecycle testing that is both robust and affordable
- Broad customer interaction including Department of Defense (DoD) contract work
- Understand and define specialized capital investment needs
- Intense focus on ‘customer affordability’, by using effective cost measurement techniques
- Drive improvements in product affordability through increased built-in-test capabilities and decreased lifecycle
Qualifications You Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
- This position requires 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships)
- The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer
- Specific Major-Systems Engineering
- Systems Engineering experience in test requirements development, test planning, test techniques, test methodologies test requirements documents, embedded functional test, and integration, verification, and validation for test
- Past experience demonstrating a systems engineering approach for all test-related activities throughout the product lifecycle
- Experience with development, environmental, qualification, production, manufacturing operations testing
- Demonstrated expertise in modeling tools such as Unified Modeling Language (UML) and/or Systems Modeling Language (SysML)
