As the Quality Manager, You lead the Quality department and ensure that quality standards are maintained throughout the factory, including sanitation, ingredients, packaging, and quality management systems (QMS). You act as the guardian of quality compliance and challenge all functions across the value chain—Operations, Supply Chain, and Consumer Services—to drive continuous improvement and foster a culture of quality and compliance performance. You provide technical expertise and support to ensure compliance with NQMS / FSSC 22000, regulatory requirements, and food safety standards. You report directly to the Factory Manager and have a functional reporting line to Corporate Quality Management.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

SAFETY, HEALTH & ENVIRONMENT (SH&E)

  • Collaborate with SH&E on maintaining, promoting and developing high health and safety standards through leading by example and jointly carrying out all duties and specific responsibilities in compliance with Quality and Food Safety
  • Policies and Procedures

 

QUALITY

  • Direct and supervise the development, implementation and administration of QA activities in all phases of operation at factory level (Nestlé Quality Management Systems)
  • Monitor, drive and lead improvements to meet Business Goals while sharing Quality Metrics/KPI's at the facility in daily, weekly, and monthly operational meetings
  • Monitor and assess performance of the quality systems, report its effectiveness to management and implement actions for improvement
  • Ensure compliance of the audit programs for internal and external audits i.e. FSSC 22000, NQMS, NGA/Market audits
  • Ensure the effective operation of HACCP and Food Safety Teams
  • Drive Hygiene and NGMP programs across the whole factory and external warehouse
  • Identify and apply “Standard Practices” within the facility or from the broader network
  • Be the factory Quality Pillar and champion NCE quality related activities
  • Manage QA-related projects from inception to implementation in the dept and factory-wide
  • Provide technical support/resources for Co-manufacturers and Affiliates, which include insuring continued compliance to formal release requirements of associated products
  • Support divisional TAG, PTC/R&D, Engineering, Vendors, Consumer Service, Sales & Marketing and Supply chain on Quality-related matters
  • Coordinate and participate in Product Reviews on both the factory and Corporate level
  • Corporate Quality liaise to Consumer Services, Marketing and Brand Manager by investigating and communicating consumer complaint trends and resolutions
  • NUSA Quality Supplier Management through Vendor audits, advice and action plans
  • Participate on the Factory Crisis Management Team
  • Communicate and drive compliance for new and/or updated Regulatory Policies
  • Provide support to local, State and Federal agencies when requested by Divisional QA

 

PEOPLE CULTURE

  • Maintain a culture where people take pride & responsibility in both Quality and Safety in everything they do. Continually inform and involve personnel in the exchange of information necessary to ensure alignment to current and future Quality objectives
  • Make sure Quality communication is clear, accurate, consistent, and effective
  • Supervise the activities of QA department personnel with strong emphasis on employee relations, teamwork, and people development

 

FINANCIAL/STRATEGIC IMPACT:

  • Maintain the QA department’s budget by identifying process improvements and avoiding unnecessary costs
  • Uphold strict Operations quality standards that will prevents rework and other unexpected costs in Production
  • Assist Supply Chain with quality standards for shipping, receiving, and storing products within cost standards

 

 

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL

 

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Dairy Science, Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology, or similar discipline - Required
  • HACCP Experience is required
  • Minimum 5 years of Quality Management experience, preferably in a food manufacturing or consumer goods environment
  • At least 2-3 years of QA experience in a factory environment
  • At least 2-3 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing or processing environment preferred

 

Work Requirements

  • Primarily a Monday – Friday work schedule with some workdays off shift or on the weekend
  • This is a beverage production factory where ambient conditions may be extremely cold, wet or warm

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced work environment while upholding strong leadership, interpersonal, and self-initiative skills
  • Must have strong knowledge and understanding of food safety / HACCP, GMP’s, Allergen Controls, Sanitary design/controls, pest control, basic food regulations, specifications, analytical and microbiological lab methods desired and basic food technology
  • Demonstrated technical and strategic managerial skills to achieve desired results established by corporate KPIs/reports, peers, internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written and listening), influencing skills, and the ability to facilitate individual and group coaching to different target audiences while maintaining strong interpersonal, professional relationships and promoting open communication
  • Developed understanding of maintaining financial targets and creating department budgets
  • Knowledge of Micro and Hygiene monitoring
  • Nestlé NQMS or FSSC 22000 training or similar Food Safety and Quality Systems training by Silliker, etc.  Implementation experience on Food Safety and/or Quality programs is strongly preferred.
  • PC proficiency in MS Windows-based applications – primarily Microsoft Office; also, system knowledge of SAP, GLOBE, POKA, TRACE, and KRONOS

The approximate pay range for this position is $106,000.00 to $117,000.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
