This position is National Remote. You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in Minneapolis, Virginia, Maryland, or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office for a minimum of four (4) days per week.

This position is responsible for the design, development and maintenance of Electronic Health Record (EHR) and integrated technology training and adoption program materials. This position develops effective training programs following standard, best-practice frameworks for new hire onboarding, project implementations, upgrades, optimization, technology adoption, and efficiency programs for Optum Market Performance Partnerships (MPPs). This position also configures and manages the EHR training environment domains, including training patients and training data, to support training delivery. In addition to managing training programs, this position is responsible for ensuring EHR trainers are proficient in delivering training in accordance with design and learning objectives and standards. This position collaborates with subject matter experts (SMEs) to create engaging, effective learning experiences tailored to diverse healthcare audiences.

This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime. 

We offer 6 weeks of paid on-the-job training and the hours during training will be 8:00 am - 5 :00 pm CST, Monday - Friday.  

               

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain training and communication materials, including curricula/lesson plans, proficiency assessments, tip sheets, flyers, memos, videos, online learnings, and simulations on EHR and integrated systems functionality and best practice workflows.
  • Support all elements of training planning, design, development, and implementation for designated application(s). This includes all aspects of initial new hire onboarding and continuous education, mastery, efficiency, and adoption.
  • Assess training effectiveness through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics.
  • Continuously update training materials based on system upgrades, workflow changes, and user feedback.
  • Partners with cross-functional teams to assess training needs, design and implement effective training programs, and ensure the ongoing maintenance of training and communication materials that support organizational goals.
  • Work with interdisciplinary team on technology projects and upgrades to design training and communication materials that drive adoption of new features and workflows
  • Identify workflow improvement opportunities and collaborate with HI teams and stakeholders to align EHR usage with best practices
  • Work closely with HI IT, and operational leaders to ensure training aligns with system functionality and clinical workflows.
  • Serve as a liaison between end users and technical teams to identify training needs and usability issues.
  • Maintain core knowledge of key practices (business or patient care) that are integrated with the EHR
  • Train and credential EHR trainers to ensure proficiency in delivering training content aligned with established materials, goals, and learning objectives. 
  • Configure and maintain EHR training environment domains, utilizing mock patients and scenarios.
  • Identify build issues in training environment domain, implement fixes and enhancements
  • Contribute to change management and communication strategies related to EHR initiatives.
  • Manage training ticket queues and respond to training-related requests, monitor training ticket data and analyze to identify trends and develop new training program strategy.
  • Deliver training and communication to clinical and operational users when required for initial onboarding and continuous education, adoption, and mastery.
  • This includes serving as a backup to EHR trainers and supporting complex projects and technology changes.
  • Participate in post-implementation support and optimization efforts.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Must be 18 years of age or older  
  • 5+ years of experience in education or healthcare related field required
  • EHR vendor certification as applicable (Current certification or obtain within first 6 months)
  • Familiarity with healthcare technologies and adult education learning principles and training delivery preferred
  • Understanding of electronic health records (EHRs) and related workflows preferred
  • Communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications, including Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of Information Systems applications such as: EHR and integrated systems, ServiceNow, Learning Management System (LMS), Infor Cloud Suite, Smart Spreadsheet, etc.

          

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from  $71,200 - $127,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
