Job Details

The Solutions Consultant for Indirect Tax for India, based in India, will be responsible for driving gross sales by proactively developing and helping to close solutions sales opportunities, through engaging/assisting customers in the sales process and providing solution and product expertise.

Your knowledge of the domain and customer will assist our sales team qualify, scope and ultimately win key deals in the India region. Through your subject matter expertise in indirect tax, you will be able to build strong relationships with the customer by understanding their pain points and identifying the right offerings that meet their solution requirement.

You will be a technology advocate, someone who is comfortable talking to trends in the market around your subject matter and building market making wins alongside the Sales team, to drive continued growth in the indirect tax portfolio.

About The Role

  • Engage in solution consulting and pre-sales activities, providing solution and product expertise during the sales cycle. This generally involves supporting the specialist sales teams to define and scope the appropriate solution to fulfill customer needs
  • Understand customer requirements/needs and find the best solution within Thomson Reuters suite of indirect tax products, including ONESOURCE Determination, Compliance and e-invoicing (Pagero), to develop a suitable and strong proposal which can create difference from competitors.
  • Manage, lead and execute product demonstrations during the customer buying cycle
  • Respond quickly to new leads working with urgency to progress deals through the sales cycle
  • Develop and help to close new opportunities to meet and exceed recurring and outright Gross Sales quotas
  • Keep up to date with news and changes in policy, regulations and activities of major players in the industries to have sufficient domain knowledge to lead discussion with customers and present thought leadership, insight and expertise in public forums
  • Use Salesforce and other client relationship management databases to maintain customer and opportunity data with discipline to enhance customer insight and ensure accurate forecasting
  • Assist in key retention situations, bringing domain expertise relevant to the customer – as agreed with the appropriate stakeholders
  • Act as an advocate for customer needs to the business and product team.
  • Assist with complex renewals
  • Refresh annual improvements in organizational effectiveness (client-centricity, customer approach, rapid decision making)
  • Client engagement with key clients to help drive the closure of complex deals
  • Presentations across internal meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business development

About You

  • The successful candidate will typically have 10+ years industry experience with a proven track record in selling or supporting solutions in various markets, preferably in the indirect tax and e-invoicing domain.
  • Strong client facing and presentation skills (both verbal & written).
  • Sales ‘closer’ mindset
  • Subject Matter Expert - Understand needs and opportunities for finance, tax and accounting departments including systems and workflows, with ability to apply that knowledge across a portfolio of clients
  • Demonstrated understanding of the challenges facing large in-house finance and tax departments and the key data/information necessary to confront those challenges
  • Strong commercial skills, including an understanding of the sales process (Experience managing the bid or proposal process, including responding to RFP/RFIs).
  • Consultative and problem-solving skills (client service and solution oriented).
  • Able to handle and identify priorities for multiple pre-sales projects at the same time.
  • Able to identify and help up-sell Tax/Accounting Solutions and Thomson Reuters’ product and services.
