Hybrid work
Udemy is headquartered in San Francisco with global offices in Australia, India, Ireland, Türkiye, Mexico City and other US locations. Our robust hybrid work model spans San Francisco, Mexico City, Denver, Ankara, Dublin, and Melbourne.
This hybrid position requires two days per week in the office at the nearest hub.
About you
We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented People Partner Generalist to support employees across multiple functions in North America and Latin America, who has strong ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels within the People team (both People Partners and Centres of Excellence).
About this role
This role focuses on HR business partner scaling across compliance, benefits, program delivery and employee engagement while collaborating with People Partners, Recruiters, and the Employee Relations leader. The ideal candidate is highly organized, has program management experience, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about delivering an exceptional employee experience.
About your skills
Communication & Problem-Solving – Strong interpersonal skills to effectively address employee inquiries, collaborate with cross-functional HR teams, and proactively identify and resolve operational HR challenges in a fast-paced environment.
Consulting: You see beyond the present problem and identify the fundamental ‘why’. You are a strong systems thinker and co-design potential solutions with the centre of excellence and people partner.
Prioritization & Organization – Ability to manage multiple HR responsibilities efficiently, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time. Skilled in identifying urgent needs, balancing short-term demands with long-term HR initiatives, and maintaining structured workflows in a high-volume environment.
What you’ll be doing
HR Systems & Data Management:
Serve as the primary point of contact for data extraction and reporting in Workday (HRIS), generating reports on headcount, turnover, and workforce trends on an as-needed basis.
Develop and distribute monthly and quarterly reports to provide functional-level insights that support HR initiatives and strategic decision-making.
Assist in HR data audits to ensure accuracy and compliance, identifying opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and data integrity.
Employee Engagement & HR Program Support:
Assist in executing HR initiatives, including employee engagement surveys, BEDI programs, and wellness initiatives.
Partner with HR teams to coordinate training sessions and HR-related communications.
HR Operations & Compliance:
Ensure HR policies and procedures, including first line manager coaching and performance management conversations, complying with federal, state, and local labor laws.
Ownership and maintenance of our HR systems and internal records across the North and Latin America People Partner team.
Offboarding Administration:
Support the facilitation of employee offboarding processes, including exit interviews and separation agreements.
What you’ll have
4+ years of experience in an HR Generalist or HR Operations role, preferably in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Strong knowledge of HR policies, employment laws, and compliance in North and Latin America.
Experience with HRIS systems (Workday) and proficiency in Google Workspace.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, program management and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently with a high level of attention to detail.
