Role
This role is on the Removals Journey team, which enables our clients procurement of high quality carbon removals to achieve their net zero goals. This team owns the carbon removals domain end-to-end. This includes supply ingestion: collecting and organizing carbon removals from a variety of sources. This domain also includes collaboration with the science team for review, quality assessments, and monitoring. And the domain includes collaboration with the commercial team to assemble diversified portfolios and maintain the overall purchase experience. You will be an essential member of our engineering team. You will leverage your extensive experience to build a high performing, diverse, and healthy team. You will work for your team, leading them from the front through all aspects of the software development lifecycle (SDLC). You will grow your team and enable individuals to reach their potential. You will play a key role in engaging with cross-functional stakeholders within the company to ensure that the Removals Journey team delivers our business objectives. You will be a servant leader who empowers your team to grow and succeed together. Your skill at articulating engineering best practices and technical concepts in interdisciplinary environments is crucial. You have experience building and operating critical infrastructure and designing resilient systems. You are capable and confident in leading engineering initiatives while providing space for team members to grow. You provide constructive mentorship where needed. You are a lifelong learner with a passion for establishing a world-class engineering culture of technical excellence.
Responsibilities- Build and lead exceptional engineering teams
- You are an engineering manager with extensive experience shaping and leading high performing teams in greenfield environments where product requirements are constantly being updated and refined. You are actively involved in planning with your team and proficient in various stages of software design, implementation and operation.

- You ensure the team has appropriate quality checks in place to continuously improve code quality, test coverage, monitoring, and alerting.

- Significant career experience as a software engineer with a track record of success and technical leadership.
- You are an accomplished engineering manager that has led software teams and established competency in the following:
- Creating and refining system designs and software architectures.
- Measuring, monitoring, and improving performance (both tech & people).Improving code quality, test coverage, and reliability.
- Implementing agile software development practices and ceremonies.
- You have built performant and diverse teams:
- You have managed inclusive hiring and onboarding pipelines that sourced from diverse pools and communities.
- You have partnered with recruiters to efficiently fill open roles with candidates that leveled up the overall team.
- You have nurtured internal growth among your direct reports and supported each individual’s unique goals, strengths, and needs.

Base Pay Range: $160,000-$212,000
*range covers multiple levels, as determined throughout the course of the interview process
