Job Summary:
This internship position is in support of an integral 24/7 Operations environment. This will provide an opportunity for exposure to many of the day to day activities of this highly dynamic team.
As an intern you will be assigned a mentor and given a project to complete during your internship.
Due to the security clearance requirement needed one day 1 of employment, this internship can be worked on a full or part-time basis around required class work once the clearance process is complete.
This position is an onsite role in Las Cruces, NM.
Not Relocation Eligible – Relocation assistance not available
Top Secret/ SCI with Counterintelligence Polygraph is required prior to start. This process can take up to 15 months for issuance so fall 2025 or later start is expected.
This position can be a Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or Post Graduate Technical Intern based on the candidate's qualifications and standing as outlined below:
- (Sophomore Technical Intern) - must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program and classified as a Sophomore by start of internship and provide proof of graduation prior to first day of employment
- (Junior Technical Intern) - must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program and classified as a Junior by start of internship and provide proof of graduation prior to first day of employment
- (Senior Technical Intern)- must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program and classified as a Senior by start of internship and provide proof of graduation prior to first day of employment
- (Post-Graduate Technical Intern) - must have an undergraduate degree and be enrolled in a graduate degree program (in degree fields listed in Qualifications You Must Have) by start of internship.
What You Will Do
- Learn and assist in execution of real-time command and control and mission planning activities to satisfy customer requirements
- Monitor satellite and ground system telemetry
- Report and document anomalous performance and interact with other team members to validate operational requirements performance
- Create and or implement a daily operations plan using complex software and hardware systems
- Support test activities as necessary
- Must have the ability to work rotating 12 hour shifts and overtime on a regular basis
What You Will Learn
- After completion of comprehensive on-the-job training, the candidate will be a part of a certified team of subject matter experts that are integral to our customer’s success
- Crosstrain in other operational positions as assigned and assist with the training of other personnel on the contract team
Qualifications You Must Have
- This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelor’s (or higher) Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) degree program and will be at minimum, entering their Sophomore year by the start of summer 2025
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance prior to start date.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
- 3.0 cumulative GPA desired
- Experience providing/receiving training to/from a wide range of learning techniques and styles
- Proficient use of both Windows and Unix platforms
- Experience with Perl, Python, VBA and or other scripting languages
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
