Thomson Reuters is seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager with expertise in AI and machine learning to join the Tax, Accounting, and Audit team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team dedicated to modernizing and enhancing CoCounsel for Tax, particularly Ready to Advise, our AI-powered tax advisory platform that helps tax professionals transition from compliance to strategic advisory services. Alongside your team members, you will be responsible for supporting product development and strategy, focusing on key growth projects and addressing the overall needs of our customers.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with CoCounsel for Tax and other Thomson Reuters leaders, customers, and partners in technology and user experience. You will play a key role in our strategy to deliver customer-focused enhancements to CoCounsel for Tax and our other tax, accounting, and audit solutions, leveraging AI and machine learning to drive growth opportunities.

The Senior Product Manager will own the vision, direction, and priorities for their designated feature or product area, overseeing the product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical execution. The Sr. PM should possess a strong technical background and a comprehensive understanding of generative AI technologies, applying this knowledge to develop solutions that enhance our product capabilities in solving customer challenges. Adaptability in the face of market changes and ambiguity is essential.

The Sr. PM will collaborate extensively with colleagues across various departments, including subject matter experts and other product groups, to ensure the delivery of solutions that are of the highest quality, accuracy, and value to customers. Effective communication skills are crucial, enabling them to convey customer needs clearly and effectively throughout the organization. The Sr. PM will work closely with design and engineering teams to transform these needs into clear priorities, compelling roadmaps, and innovative solutions with significant impact. Balancing strategic vision with tactical execution, while coordinating across multiple functions, is critical at this level.

About the Role

As a Senior Product Manager, you will experience a dynamic and varied work environment, engaging in activities ranging from product strategy development to assessing feature performance metrics, leading customer interactions, writing user stories and acceptance criteria, and roadmap planning. Your primary responsibility will be to maximize customer and business value using your expertise and insights.

You will support product management for Ready to Advise, an AI-powered tax advisory solution that helps tax professionals scale their advisory practices by analyzing completed tax returns and generating personalized tax planning strategies and client plans, while also guiding users through strategy implementation. Working alongside the Product Lead, you will play a key role in executing the Ready to Advise roadmap and ensuring the product delivers on its unique position within the Thomson Reuters ecosystem to help tax professionals transition from compliance-focused work to high-value advisory services.

As a Senior Product Manager, you will:

  • Develop strong product intuition by interpreting customer problems, business needs, and opportunities, offering potential solutions with moderate guidance and direction.

  • Build world-class capabilities and products by creating and maintaining a vision for the product, managing the product roadmap for your features, and partnering closely with the development team, UX, and other stakeholders to execute the roadmap efficiently. This includes defining your product or feature backlog based on customer and business value and using metrics to monitor progress.

  • Drive product adoption and feature engagement by identifying friction points in the user journey, developing strategies to increase utilization and retention, and working cross-functionally to implement solutions that improve customer success.

  • Demonstrate leadership by taking ownership of a feature/product, ensuring its performance and reliability, and providing clients with a positive experience as it is deployed in end-to-end product experiences. You will show resilience, learn from experiences, and effectively promote the product vision to colleagues.

  • Be a well-rounded AI expert for our teams by staying updated on AI and technology developments, inspiring teams to experiment with AI applications, and sharing your insights on how AI can enhance our offerings through writing, blogging, and presentations to teams and customers.

About You

To be successful in achieving these goals, you will be:

  • Curious & Innovative, with a focus on understanding and solving customer problems and needs by working closely with customers, partners, and Thomson Reuters colleagues.

  • Agile, with a strong sense of urgency and a desire to work in a fast-paced environment to deliver solutions within strict timelines, unafraid of failure.

  • An effective communicator who projects confidence and communicates clearly and concisely with management, peers, customers, and partners.

  • Strong technical background

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Familiarity with the Tax and Accounting industry is preferred.

  • Experience developing and delivering solutions that employ AI, ML, Gen AI, and related technologies is required.
