Motive Power applications include industrial lift trucks and pallet jacks, rail equipment, mining equipment, and airline ground support equipment. Job Purpose

 Lead and coordinate the Quality activities with battery suppliers, representing EnerSys and developing solutions for quality components and stable/repeatable processes. Interface with suppliers and internal cross-functional teams, managing the prioritization of tasks and activities.

Responsible to drive corrective and preventive actions, ensure robust quality methods are utilized and problem solving is executed with highest level of detail. Review and validate proper identification of root causes and corrective actions.

Be the key point of contact and coordinate effective communication with suppliers and support team members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Be the key point of contact with lead acid battery suppliers.
  2. Drive the Quality activities and coordinate the communication with project teams.
  3. Identify, communicate, plan and execute Quality improvements with suppliers.
  4. Lead problem solving initiatives and prioritize issues as they arise.
  5. Manage open items from suppliers and Enersys to closure.
  6. Perform product and process audits on a routine basis.
  7. Manage communication two ways: supply base and EnerSys.
  8. Ability to multi-task, oversee multiple projects (NPI, current production, and continuous improvements activities).
  9. Coordinate and review PPAP submittals in preparation for series production.
  10. Prepare weekly / monthly Supplier Quality related Reports.
  11. Moderate and/or support Design and Process FMEAs.

Drive for application of lessons learned into different products and processes.

Qualifications

Quality tools experience (i.e. AIAG core tools)

Experience with battery manufacturing and sub-components

Program management skills

Experience with dealing with suppliers, minimum 3 years as SQE

APQP

Preferred Requirements

            Six Sigma Green Belt certification

            Certified IATF 16949 or VDA 6.3 auditor

Education and/or Experience

            Bachelor’s in Science – Engineering (or 6-years as SQE)
