We're seeking someone to join EMEA corporate tax team as a Vice President in Tax Department to lead the team to deliver high quality output, whilst managing a portfolio of deliverables, along with an ability to interpret and apply technical rules and regulations.

This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional to join the EMEA tax department of a prestigious multinational bank. The EMEA Corporate Tax team operates in four locations (Glasgow, London, Frankfurt and Paris) and oversees Corporate Tax compliance and reporting in 25 jurisdictions across EMEA for around 200 Morgan Stanley entities.

The position requires an individual that has experience of leading a team to deliver high quality output, whilst managing a portfolio of deliverables, along with an ability to interpret and apply technical rules and regulations.

You will lead our EMEA corporate tax team of 12 people in Glasgow, which is part of the global corporate tax team.

This is a Vice President level position within the Tax & Advisory job family.

In the Finance division, we act as a partner to business units around the globe by providing management, review, analysis and advisory services of the Firm’s financial and capital resources.

What you'll do:
-Manage a team of 12 people to deliver on a portfolio of companies and processes, both within the UK and across the EMEA region, and contribute to tax return filings, tax payments, tax forecasting and provisioning, tax bookings along internal and external tax reporting.
-As part of a well-established corporate tax function, you will have the opportunity to conduct tax technical research and get involved in project work
-Prepare responses to information requests from tax authorities in relation to tax audits
-Manage other tax reporting requirements and analysis as required.
-EMEA coverage agent for existing operating models, including advisory support for EMEA execution of the models
-Establish, develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders. 
-Work with external advisors, external auditors, and Morgan Stanley’s global tax team on tax matters.
-Work with the Global Tax Controllers’ team to ensure efficient data collection and process execution
-Develop and mentor junior team members, helping them achieve their full potential.


What you'll bring to the role:
-Qualified accountant, CTA or equivalent qualification – or relevant experience.
-Background in an accounting or law firm, bank, or in-house tax department.
-Ability to interpret and apply technical rules and regulations.
-Experience of leading and motivating a team to deliver high quality output to an agreed schedule, with confidence to question and challenge precedents and existing working practices.
-Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, and the ability to work independently.
-Applicants should have a record of managing a portfolio of deliverables and meeting tight deadlines.
-Ability to multi-task in fast paced environment and to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
-Ability and desire to improve and create processes to increase efficiencies and completeness in the tax compliance and reporting cycle.
-A high level of personal commitment, self-motivation, and an innovative, flexible, and team player attitude. 
-Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
