Staff Software Engineer - AI II
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Software Engineer - AI II to join our innovative team at Thomson Reuters. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying cutting-edge AI solutions, leveraging your expertise in machine learning, big data processing, and cloud computing to deliver impactful products.
About the Role :
* Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex AI-driven software systems and applications from conception to deployment.
* Apply advanced machine learning algorithms and data science techniques to solve challenging business problems and extract actionable insights from large datasets.
* Architect and optimize big data processing pipelines to ensure scalability, efficiency, and reliability of AI solutions.
* Utilize cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) to build, deploy, and manage AI services and infrastructure.
* Develop high-quality, maintainable, and robust Python code, adhering to best practices in software development.
* Engage in the full software development life cycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
* Design and implement comprehensive unit testing strategies to ensure the quality and correctness of developed software.
* Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product managers, data scientists, and other engineers, to define project requirements and deliver integrated solutions.
* Communicate technical concepts and project progress clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Mentor junior staff members, providing technical guidance, code reviews, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
* Manage stakeholder expectations and relationships, ensuring alignment on project goals and deliverables.
About You :
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related technical field.
* Overall 9+ years of Exp, Minimum of [X years, e.g., 5-7 years] of professional experience in software development with a strong focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML).
Hands on with AI/ML frameworks, LLMs, Understanding of Cloud & Deployments
* Expert-level proficiency in Python (Programming Language) and extensive experience with Python Software Development.
* Proven experience with Big Data Processing technologies and frameworks.
* Solid understanding and practical experience with Cloud Computing platforms.
* Demonstrated expertise in Software System Design and the ability to architect scalable and resilient solutions.
* Thorough understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and experience with agile methodologies.
* Proficiency in designing and implementing robust Unit Testing.
* Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical information effectively.
* Strong track record of successful Cross-Team Collaboration and working in a collaborative environment.
* Experience with Stakeholder Management, including gathering requirements and managing expectations.
* Prior experience in Mentoring Staff is highly desirable.
