Job Summary

Performs complex and sensitive investigative work across all allegation types and regions, ensuring investigations are conducted in an independent, fair, and unbiased manner. This role prepares and maintains detailed confidential investigation records, collaborates closely with cross-functional partners, and supports a safe, ethical, and trusting workplace. The position also contributes to strengthening investigation processes, capabilities, and overall organizational integrity in alignment with Cummins values and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities Investigations & Case Management

  • Independently investigate a wide range of workplace allegations across business units and regions, ensuring accuracy, objectivity, and timely completion.
  • Document, investigate, update, and maintain cases within the case management platform in a complete and confidential manner.
  • Develop and execute investigation plans to ensure consistent, thorough, and standardized investigations.
  • Conduct effective interviews and correspond with relevant internal and external parties.
  • Maintain independence and objectivity while balancing organizational and employee perspectives.

Ethics, Compliance & Regulatory Adherence

  • Investigate matters related to fraud, bribery, corruption, FCPA, and other ethics and compliance issues.
  • Support investigations involving Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) cases, including working with Internal Committees.
  • Ensure regulatory, legal, and compliance requirements are met throughout the investigation lifecycle.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of business ethics policies, HR practices, and compliance standards to determine appropriate courses of action.
  • Support post-investigation cause analysis, triage, and hand-offs to relevant functions.

Analysis, Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Prepare detailed investigation reports, summaries, and recommendations for leadership.
  • Interpret investigation data and trends; collaborate with HR, Legal, and other stakeholders to recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Manage and drive improvements to enhance the effectiveness, integrity, and maturity of the investigations process.
  • Perform second-level quality reviews of investigation cases and ensure adherence to best practices.

Collaboration, Leadership & Capability Building

  • Partner with Investigations leadership to execute strategic initiatives toward a world-class investigations organization.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in investigative processes, procedures, and best practices.
  • Mentor and support Investigators and Senior Investigators; serve as a thought partner on complex cases.
  • Deliver training, communications, and forums to build investigation capability and awareness across the organization.
  • Participate in special projects and assist Investigation Directors with operational assignments as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Human Resources, Business, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree preferred, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
  • Yellow Belt certification preferred.

Licenses / Certifications

  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export control or sanctions regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

  • Overall 14 yrs of experince and minimum 5 plus; years of experience in investigations, employee relations, internal audit, or internal controls (preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience in fraud, bribery, and corruption investigations.
  • Experience handling POSH cases and working with Internal Committee processes.
  • Exposure to digital forensic evidence and global privacy considerations.
  • English language proficiency required; additional languages may be required based on role location.
  • The role is responsible for conducting investigations in India and other regions as required.
  • Demonstrable workplace investigations experience is a key requirement
  • Ability to collaborate with key stakeholders within the regions and to function as a key member of the global investigations team is essential
  • This role is Hybrid with a possibility of remote.
