Job Purpose
As a Warehouse Material Handler at Bren-Tronics, part of EnerSys and a manufacture of advanced portable power solutions, receive, store and distribute material, tools, equipment and products within the warehouse, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all job functions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist shipping by unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders and distributing to sales associates for processing.
- Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed and/or shipped.
- Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as type, size, style, color or product code.
- File requisitions, work orders or requests for materials, tools or other stock items and distribute items to shipping or to designated route driver storage area.
- Ensure warehouse is accessible and safe for salespeople and customer traffic.
- Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department.
- Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate method.
- Open bales, crates and other containers.
- Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed via Visual Program.
- Assist in counting of physical inventory.
- Weigh and count items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
- Operates Forklift and various moving equipment.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- 2+ years of experience as a Warehouse Material Handler
- Forklift experience preferred
- Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
General Job Requirements
- Must be able to frequently bend; twist; reach; stoop; kneel or crouch.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds/23 kilos on a daily continuous basis. Anything heavier will be done with the assistance of a mechanical device or with the assistance of another employee.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- This position requires working in a plant/warehouse environment. Therefore, expect varying working conditions.
- Employees are responsible for wearing the required Personal Protective Equipment in the proper manner at all times.
- Must be able and willing to operate a forklift.
