DESCRIPTION

Key Responsibilities

  • Define technical requirements by obtaining input from Design Verification Plan and Report (DVP&R) stakeholders and develop optimized analytical and experimental verification plans.
  • Make decisions related to verification and validation activities impacting product performance, durability, and reliability.
  • Investigate, diagnose, and resolve potential component or system concerns, recommend appropriate actions, and document findings.
  • Apply and improve processes such as technical requirements development, iDFMEA, Engineering Standard Work (ESW), DVP&R creation, test planning, and structured problem-solving.
  • Use tools such as Integrity, Power BI, McParts, and other engineering systems to support processes and quality decision-making.
  • Own problem resolution for moderately complex components, systems, or subsystems with increasing independence as experience grows.
  • Execute established work processes while contributing to continuous improvement of systems and methodologies.
  • Coordinate work with technicians or temporary engineers (as needed) without direct people management.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and align contributions toward program goals.
  • Develop technical proficiency in key validation and product engineering competencies.

  • Product Test Integration & Optimization – Develops physics-based understanding of customer duty cycles, performs damage modeling, and aligns analytical results with experimental outcomes.
  • Product Failure Mode Avoidance – Identifies potential failure modes using structured tools and contributes to enhancing product reliability.
  • Product Interface Management & Integration – Analyzes system interfaces, defines boundaries, and creates integration plans to support diagnostics and issue resolution.
  • Product Problem Solving – Conducts data-driven root-cause analysis, implements corrective actions, and prevents recurrence through systemic improvements.
  • Product Verification & Validation Management – Develops validation plans, evaluates analytical/simulation/physical test results, and provides recommendations with supporting documentation.
  • System Requirements Engineering – Translates stakeholder needs into verifiable requirements, manages requirement traceability, and assesses change impact.
  • Applies Principles of Statistical Methods – Uses statistical tools (ANOVA, regression, DOE, probability, confidence intervals) to analyze data and drive decisions.
  • Systems Thinking – Defines system boundaries, understands interactions, and predicts system behavior to improve system-level outcomes.
  • Technical Documentation – Produces accurate, clear technical documentation for knowledge transfer and decision support.
  • Technical Function Processes & Tools – Executes and improves technical standards, best practices, and engineering tools.
  • Product Development Execution, Monitoring & Control – Plans and coordinates product development activities, monitors progress, mitigates risks, and ensures alignment with product lifecycle expectations.

Education, Licenses, and Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a STEM field required.
  • Master’s degree in a related discipline may be required for select positions.
  • Role may require licensing for export controls or sanctions compliance.

Experience Requirements

  • Early-career or entry-level experience.
  • Prior experience through internships, co-ops, engineering projects, or extracurricular technical teams is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and basic engineering tools is desirable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute unit, integration, and system-level test cases using VectorCAST for safety-critical embedded software.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 26262 functional safety standards during testing.
  • Conduct code coverage analysis and maintain detailed traceability to safety requirements.
  • Collaborate with software, safety, and quality teams to identify root causes and resolve defects.
  • Contribute to tool qualification activities and documentation for safety audits.
  • Assist with test automation and CI/CD pipeline integration using Jenkins.
  • Maintain comprehensive test reports and contribute to safety artifacts such as verification plans and safety cases.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in VectorCAST (unit/regression testing, coverage analysis).
  • Hands-on experience with Functional Safety (FuSa) testing.
  • Understanding of embedded systems and familiarity with C/C++ programming.
  • Knowledge of MISRA C/C++ guidelines and static/dynamic analysis tools.
  • Understanding of E2E functional safety interactions across vehicle/engine/system interfaces.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 26262, ASIL decomposition, and industry safety standards.
  • Experience with Jenkins, DOORS, PTC Integrity, Git, and Jira.
  • Programming exposure in Python (preferred for test automation).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Computer Science, or related engineering disciplines.
  • 2–3 years of experience in software testing for safety-critical systems.
  • Functional Safety certification (e.g., TÜV SÜD, SGS-TÜV) is an added advantage.
