The Avery Dennison Identification Solutions group is looking for an Engineer to join the Manufacturing Engineering team at our manufacturing site in Miamisburg, Ohio. As an Manufacturing Engineer, you will have the opportunity to lead and execute new projects that are directly tied to key strategic goals for the business.
Roles and Responsibilities
As an Manufacturing Engineer, you will have the opportunity to make an impact by:
- Promoting safety as the most important value in the organization by contributing through training, process improvement and other environmental, health, and safety responsibilities
- Documenting standard processes and procedures for implementation and training
- Developing and implementing production/processing methods and controls to meet quality standards in the most cost efficient manner
- Providing support to manufacturing to resolve production and quality issues that arise on a day-to-day basis
- Working with maintenance team members to perform root cause analysis and define corrective actions
- Review preventive or autonomous maintenance and implement improvements per Reliability Engineering standards
- Conducting technical inspections of complex machines
- Recommending and implementing improvements and/or modifications in sequence of operations, equipment utilization, and related matters
- Evaluating and approving design changes, specifications and drawing releases
- Partnering with the Manufacturing Engineering Manager to develop and execute projects that are a part of the Identifications Enterprise Lean Sigma journey
- Managing special projects; which could include supplier relationships, production performance management, sustainability, and other ad hoc projects
- Setting project schedules by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and solving problems
- Defining requirements for new equipment validation run-off
- Preparing new machines and production equipment for operation
- Optimizing direct and indirect manufacturing labor and in-plant material flow through the use of industrial engineering methods including man-machine, line balancing, time studies, and value stream mapping
- Designing and planning equipment layouts
- Comply and improve Management of Change and Change Management systems
Qualifications
Qualifications
To set you up for success in this role, Avery Dennison requires the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in related field (Engineering, Mechanical/Industrial) or 2-4 years of experience in an engineering function in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledgeable in Electronic Systems (Wiring diagrams, Electrical motors, P&ID’s, PLC logic, ect.)
- Knowledgeable in Mechanical Systems (Pump curves, Torque requirements, ect.)
- Good math and analytical skills
- Good verbal and written skills
- Good organization and attention to detail
- Familiarity in process documentation and improvement
- Understanding of applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Office and Google Apps (mail, docs, sheets, slides, forms)
- Must be comfortable with continuous learning, role flexibility, and emotional intelligence
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed in this role are as follows:
- Working experience in Oracle E-Business Suite R12
- Proficient in CAD 2D and 3D
- High-energy, self-directed, self-starter
- Ability to execute multiple projects with minimal supervision
- Ability to work comfortably in a dynamic, fast-paced, and matrixed organization
- Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional groups to define and execute overall requirements
- Reliability Engineering skills or formal training
- ISO 55000 Asset Management standards
- IATF 16949 standards
