Autodesk's Platform Services and Emerging Technologies organization is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Continuous Integration (CI) team. In this role, you will help design, develop, and maintain a large-scale CI platform consisting of hundreds of CI server instances that serves thousands of developers across the organization. Working alongside senior engineers, you will tackle challenges unique to operating distributed CI infrastructure at enterprise scale, ensuring reliability, performance, and developer productivity. Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain large-scale CI infrastructure serving a diverse internal developer community across multiple cloud environments
Build automation and tooling to provision, manage, and operate a fleet of CI servers, ensuring consistency, reliability, and efficient resource utilization
Develop shared libraries, pipeline templates, and reusable components that standardize and streamline CI workflows across teams
Collaborate with platform teams to integrate CI solutions with container orchestration, artifact management, and deployment systems
Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions to ensure high availability and performance across the CI fleet
Troubleshoot complex build and pipeline issues, working closely with development teams to optimize their CI/CD workflows
Contribute to infrastructure-as-code practices using tools like Terraform and CloudFormation to manage cloud resources
Evaluate emerging CI/CD technologies and contribute to the evolution of our CI platform to meet future needs
Champion best practices for CI/CD, security, and compliance across the developer community
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
3-5 years of hands-on software development experience in Python, Go, Java, or similar languages
Experience building, maintaining, or operating CI/CD systems and pipelines
Proficiency in at least one major cloud platform (AWS or Azure), including compute, networking, and storage services
Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and container orchestration with Kubernetes
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
Solid understanding of CI/CD principles, version control (Git), and branching strategies
Experience implementing automated testing strategies (unit, integration, and end-to-end tests)
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot and debug distributed systems
Preferred Qualifications
Experience operating CI infrastructure at scale, including fleet management, high-availability configurations, and performance tuning
Experience with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Tekton, or similar tools
Experience with pipeline-as-code and config-as-code patterns
Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
Knowledge of artifact management systems such as Artifactory or Nexus
AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Developer) or Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Developer Associate)
Experience with observability tools such as Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog
Understanding of software supply chain security, including SBOM, vulnerability scanning, and compliance automation
Experience evaluating, migrating, or adopting new CI/CD technologies in enterprise environments
Ability to effectively leverage AI-assisted development tools to enhance productivity while applying critical judgment to validate outputs and ensure adherence to security and quality standards

You have experience working with distributed systems or platform infrastructure, and are eager to deepen your expertise in fleet management, reliability, and performance at scale
You are comfortable working in cloud environments and can contribute to solutions that leverage cloud-native services effectively
You thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with senior engineers to learn best practices while also partnering with development teams to understand their needs
You are curious and eager to learn, staying current with evolving CI/CD practices and emerging technologies
You have strong communication skills and can effectively document solutions and share knowledge with peers
You take ownership of your work, proactively seeking guidance on complex or unfamiliar situations while driving day-to-day tasks independently
