Job Details

The AI Software Engineer is a key member of the Platform Engineering team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining shared AI and data platform components. You will build and evolve services and tools that power intelligent features across our products, with a strong emphasis on Python and C# backend development, RAG architectures, and agentic AI solutions. You will work with architects and product teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure AI platform capabilities.

About The Role:
  • Design, implement, and maintain backend services and APIs in Python and C# as part of our AI platform.
  • Build and optimize Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems, including retrieval pipelines, ranking, and orchestration with LLMs.
  • Develop scalable data ingestion pipelines to process structured and unstructured data (documents, text, logs, etc.) for downstream AI workflows.
  • Implement and maintain embedding generation workflows, including model integration, vector storage, and retrieval integrations.
  • Design and experiment with chunking strategies (e.g., semantic, token-based, hierarchical) to improve retrieval quality, latency, and context relevance.
  • Contribute to the design and development of agentic AI solutions (multi-step tools, task planning, tool-calling, and workflow orchestration) that automate complex user and system tasks.
  • Collaborate with platform, security, and infrastructure teams to ensure solutions are robust, observable, secure, and compliant with organizational standards.
  • Write clean, testable, well-documented code and contribute to shared libraries, SDKs, and internal frameworks.
  • Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and architectural discussions, driving best practices in software engineering and AI integration.
  • Monitor production systems, troubleshoot issues, and improve reliability, performance, and cost efficiency.
  • Stay current with emerging AI/LLM tooling, frameworks, and patterns; evaluate and integrate relevant technologies into the platform.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong fluency in Python and C#, with proven experience building production-grade backend services or micro-services.
  • Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, design patterns, testing, and CI/CD.
  • Experience building or integrating with RESTful APIs and working with modern cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Familiarity with version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows.
  • Practical experience designing or implementing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines (e.g., retrieval, reranking, context construction, prompt assembly).
  • Experience with data ingestion workflows: parsing, normalization, content extraction, and transformation for unstructured data.
  • Experience working with embeddings: embedding model integration, vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, FAISS, Azure AI Search, etc.), and similarity search.
  • Exposure to designing and tuning chunking strategies (by size, semantics, structure, or metadata) to improve retrieval quality.
  • Experience building agentic AI solutions, such as:
    • Multi-step agents that call tools/services
    • Task planning and orchestration pipelines
    • Workflow engines integrating LLMs with business logic and external APIs
  • Familiarity with AI/LLM frameworks and libraries (e.g., LangChain, Semantic Kernel, guidance libraries, or similar).
  • Experience with event-driven architectures, messaging/queueing systems (e.g., Kafka, Service Bus, RabbitMQ).
  • Knowledge of security, compliance, and governance considerations in AI systems (e.g., data privacy, PII handling, access controls).

About You:
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to design pragmatic, scalable solutions.
  • Ability to translate product and platform requirements into robust technical designs.
  • Collaborative mindset and effective communication skills when working with cross-functional teams.
  • Curiosity and willingness to experiment with new AI patterns and tools, while maintaining engineering discipline.
  • Ownership mentality: comfortable taking end-to-end responsibility for services from design through operations.
  • Delivery of reliable, maintainable AI platform components and services that are adopted by internal product teams.
  • Measurable improvements in retrieval quality, latency, and overall performance of RAG and agentic workflows.
  • Reduction in manual effort through automation and reusable AI building blocks.
  • Positive feedback from partner teams on platform usability, documentation, and support.
