We are seeking a Reconciliation – Director. Responsibilities include performing Cash, Position and NAV reconciliation on daily basis for Fixed Income accounts. This reconciliation is to be completed prior to the start of trading hours for the respective region and hence is highly time sensitive. The objective of the reconciliation is to provide traders with accurate cash & positions.

Morgans Stanley Investment Management - This Operations group supports the equity, fixed income, liquidity and alternative businesses for Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM), providing middle-office services including portfolio manager support, client services, portfolio transitions, market registration, product data and performance and attribution analysis. MSIM Operations also provides mutual fund support, derivative processing, and counterparty and credit event management.
 

In the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls and develop client relationships.  This is an Advanced Specialist position at Director level within the Product Support & Services IM, which is responsible for providing transaction support and managing post execution processes.

What you'll do in the role:
 

•    Setting up reconciliation process with custodian’s, fund accountants, transfer agents

•    Perform UAT testing and collaborate with respective teams in fixing the breaks

•    Reviewing and actioning on the open breaks on daily basis.

•    Clearing of the breaks post thorough investigation.

•    Adhering to Service level agreements with global counterparts to ensure deliverables are signed off as per agreed timelines.

•    Liaising with global counterparts and custodians to ensure accuracy of books and records

•    Periodic Risk and Exception reporting to senior management

•    Involvement in projects related to the job function 

What you'll bring to the role: 
 

•     Complete understanding of Equity and Fixed income product profiles

•     Ability to operate independently with respect to most job responsibilities.

•     Ability to provide positive and constructive feedback and innovate processes.

•     Strong communication skills – clear, concise, and appropriate method of delivery.

•     Strong team player, with ability to manage deliverables on tight deadlines.

•     Strong overview ability, review of aged breaks and escalating wherever required.

•     Collaborative team player with a strong work ethic that works effectively in cross-functional team environment.

•     Strong analytical, organizational and documentation skills.

•     Detail-oriented with ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities.

•     Basic Knowledge of Debt Markets and the financial instruments involved.

•     Exhibit a strong sense of urgency, accountability, ownership.

•     Has the ability to absorb information and learns quickly.

•     Ability to follow-up and work with teams at off-site/remote locations.

•     Relevant prior experience in reconciliations will be an added advantage.

•     High degree of computer literacy, including working knowledge of Windows-based applications.
