By Joining Citi, you will become part of a global organisation whose mission is to serve as a trusted partner to our clients by responsibly providing financial services that enable growth and economic progress.
Team/Role Overview
The Product Manager over all role is to promote Citi’s custody products, develop the market, advocate for improvements, increase market share, and maintain our competitive position specifically within the Italian market. The Product Manager will confidently and convincingly communicate and explain Citi’s service offering and the intricacies of the Italian market to clients and prospects, providing best-in-class service and attracting new clients.
This role also encompasses a strong focus on innovation, leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) to identify synergies, enhance product offerings, streamline processes, and drive strategic advantage
What you’ll do
- AI-Driven Efficiency: Proactively identify, evaluate, prioritise and implement Artificial Intelligence (AI) opportunities and related synergies within product development, market strategy, and operational efficiencies. The ultimate goal is to minimize manual product efforts, thereby enabling teams to concentrate their expertise on core product development and strategic initiatives that deliver tangible value for Citi and its clients, driving innovation and competitive advantage.
- Business Growth & AI Integration: Drive and support new business growth and provide support for opportunities (such as competitor intelligence, RFIs, RFPs, roadshows, due diligence activities, etc.), while actively seeking and applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) and intelligence to streamline these processes. This also includes preparing high-standard responses for AFME and Thomas Murray questionnaires, with a goal of utilizing AI to enhance efficiency and quality where possible.
- Identify and support sales opportunities (take-away campaigns/domestic client opportunities) and manage client implementations and onboardings.
- Own cluster financials and identify and manage efficiency opportunities, including allocations saves for the Italian market. This critical task involves a deep understanding of financial principles, proactive interaction with financial departments, and the creation of insightful reports to effectively identify and lead initiatives aimed at increasing revenue and reducing expenses.
- Strategic Market & Client Optimization: Leverage extensive knowledge of Italian clients, Financial Market Infrastructures (FMIs), and regulators to optimize outcomes for Citi and its clients. An ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the requirements of large institutional custody clients, including Banks, Brokers, Global Custodians, Asset Managers, Asset Owners, and other intermediaries, with an emphasis on how these interact with local FMIs and regulatory frameworks.
- Put client needs at the forefront of what we do to provide best-in-class service, understanding our clients’ needs and expectations for both Intermediaries as well as Investor clients. Act as the escalation point for client-related issues.
- Work closely with the operations team to proactively identify and eliminate root causes of service issues and client inquiries, leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) for advanced analytics and predictive insights. Collaborate with regional management on continuous product improvements and ensure that servicing and capacity problems are efficiently addressed, often through AI-driven solutions.
- Introduce new products and/or improve product functions and features, potentially leveraging AI, to meet client needs.
- Regulatory Adherence & Risk Management: Ensure stringent compliance with all local, regional, and global risk and regulatory policies, instituting timely and effective escalation protocols. This commitment is crucial for guaranteeing successful outcomes in both internal and external audits.
- Represent Citi in the Italian market and attend market meetings, with the aim of influencing the alignment of national legislation and the adoption of agreed regional/global market standards to foster harmonization, through strong leadership in local industry associations and industry working groups, which includes actively engaging with digital and new technology initiatives (AI). Maintain close relationships with market regulators and market infrastructures.
