As part of Finops capital management team, you are responsible to fulfill all the design with cost optimized & resilient cloud infrastructure solutions, applying financial governance and best practices to manage cloud spend align with business value and drive efficiency. Exposure to public cloud products & services, automation tools, cost structure and optimization would be an advantage. A general knowledge of the financial services industry and how technology supports and enables those services is extremely beneficial.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Advisory & Solution Delivery: Act as a trusted advisor to CTI business units and infrastructure architecture teams, driving comprehensive solution fulfillment. This involves translating complex business requirements into certified and standardized hardware configurations and managing end-to-end delivery, encompassing budgeting, cost approval, vendor management, and implementation.
- Financial Acumen & Expense Management: Oversee financial forecasting, align allocated budgets with actual expenditures, and manage overall expenses. Possess strong financial acumen in OPEX/CAPEX, business chargeback, depreciation, and amortization principles.
- Technical Solutioning & Optimization: Convert non-functional requirements into functional solutions tailored to client needs, ensuring adherence to operational standards. Proactively identify and propose infrastructure optimization opportunities for cost reduction, risk mitigation, and performance enhancement based on a deep understanding of existing technical landscapes and available solutions.
- Stakeholder Collaboration & Project Coordination: Collaborate closely with data center engineers, sourcing partners, vendors, finance teams, and other internal stakeholders to coordinate end-to-end service delivery, meet project timelines, and manage supply chain constraints for distributed system deliverables. Foster collaboration with application architects, developers, DevOps, and data teams to ensure strict adherence to enterprise architecture standards and best practices.
- Cloud Transformation & Resiliency: Actively contribute to the organization's cloud transformation initiatives, leveraging a strong understanding of cloud-native and managed database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL, GCP Cloud SQL). Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of application Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and Recovery Point Objective (RPO) when designing resilient infrastructure solutions.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Extensive IT Experience: Minimum of 10+ years of IT experience, including significant expertise in managing large-scale data center systems and order fulfillment within complex environments.
- Infrastructure Design & Management: Proven experience in hardware design, estate management, system design processes, and configuring hardware within large data center settings. This includes a strong understanding of network and hardware resiliency.
- Technical Proficiency:
- In-depth knowledge of multi-vendor routers/switches usability.
- Proficiency in AIX, Linux, Windows, and ESX environments, as well as integrated database systems.
- Expertise in Enterprise, SAN, and NAS storage products.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP and networking principles.
- Familiarity with virtualization products, particularly VMware.
- Competency with office automation tools such such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Operational Excellence: Demonstrated experience managing a customer support team in time-critical situations and operating within a financial services environment characterized by strict change management, financial management, and a strong controls-focused culture.
- Architectural & Strategic Thinking: Strong grasp of architectural concepts and design principles. Ability to understand how application requirements dictate infrastructure type and size, including High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) capabilities.
- Cross-Functional Technical Breadth: Significant experience across multiple core infrastructure technologies, enabling a broad understanding and strategic perspective across diverse technology groups.
- Problem-Solving & Influence: Possesses strong problem-solving skills to quickly drive technical solutions to completion, especially when facing time-sensitive challenges. Demonstrated ability to influence and drive technology change across both client-facing and technology-focused groups.
- Business Acumen: Basic understanding of business products across supported lines to effectively comprehend the use cases for deployed applications and infrastructure technologies.
- Communication & Collaboration: Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication. Proven ability to develop effective working relationships, manage multiple projects with competing priorities, and excel as a team player.
- Continuous Learning: Eager to learn the latest technologies and takes initiative to quickly master new tasks.
- Leadership & Stakeholder Management: Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
