Director, Artificial Intelligence Strategy

Please note this role is only available in Seattle, San Jose, or San Francisco and follows our flexible work model, which requires three in-office days a week.

The Director, Artificial Intelligence Strategy is a senior strategic leader responsible for shaping, developing, and executing enterprise-level AI strategy and high-impact business initiatives. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams and senior business leaders to define priorities, address complex business challenges, and drive alignment on a shared strategic agenda. The ideal candidate brings deep strategic acumen, strong problem-solving capabilities, cross-organizational influence, and a proven ability to turn insights into action.

In this role, you will:
• Identify strategic or high-impact business issues/opportunities and articulate the rationale for initiating a project or change.
• Collaborate with and coach colleagues in other departments to develop and assess the viability of potential strategies to address business issues/opportunities.
• Develop recommendations and present the business case for change, including viability of solution, implementation considerations, and an implementation roadmap.
• Advise key stakeholders by continuously helping them to successfully navigate through critical business changes.
• Utilize deep expertise and contextual awareness to explore complex issues with customers and provide trusted advice.
• Serve as a subject matter expert to others on new ideas and solutions that will improve current business processes and address challenges, and leverages other subject matter experts as needed to develop solutions.
• Guide others to collect information and analyze complex data and business problems; identify trends and use data-driven insights to make recommendations.
• Mentor others in decision modeling and the process of linking data, knowledge and insights together; consider risks that will impact timing of decisions to ensure the most beneficial decision is made.
• Demonstrate advanced understanding of the industry and its performance by remaining current on leading trends and interacting with industry stakeholders.
• Serve as an expert on industry issues, including trends and challenges or concepts; provide guidance and expertise on unique situations.
• Guide customers and key stakeholders on selection and application of industry products/services, enabling them with the proper tools, resources and knowledge for successful implementation.
• Utilize knowledge of the organization’s business model and operations to drive high impact projects and complex analyses that support the organization’s mission.
• Leverage deep understanding of the policies, practices, trends and information that impact the organization and its customers to plan for future projects.
• Utilize knowledge of the business and financial impact of decisions/solutions to drive high-impact projects that support the organization and contribute to financial performance.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • 12+ years with a Bachelor's degree; 10+ years with a Master’s degree

  • 6+ years of experience in consulting
    Functional / Technical Skills

  • Adept problem solver with a strong bias for test-and-learn approaches and data-driven decision making.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence, shift mindsets, and drive cross-organizational alignment.

  • Exceptional communicator skilled in crafting compelling narratives rooted in data and insights; able to tailor messaging to varied audiences.

  • Strong decision-making capability, integrating multiple factors to arrive at optimal outcomes.

  • Proven ability to identify, scope, and deliver strategic projects in partnership with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Recognized subject matter expert with the ability to translate complex insights into actionable strategies.

  • Deep understanding of industry trends, performance drivers, and evolving market dynamics.

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $197,000.00 to $275,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $315,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

The total cash range for this position in San Jose is $212,500.00 to $297,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $340,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role. The total cash range for this position in San Francisco is $212,500.00 to $297,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $340,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
