Work you'll do


The PAY Specialist performs reconciliation, coordination, and day-to-day support for income and accounting yield forecasting within the PAY application. The role organizes and analyzes income, expense, and distribution yield projections at the security and fund level; identifies and investigates data anomalies and forecast vs. actual differences; and supports resolution efforts to strengthen forecasting quality. The position also supports Section 19(a) forecasting/disclosure workflows, PAIR/NEST oversight, and Alternatives PAY activities in alignment with approved SOPs.
  • Perform reconciliations and variance analysis for income and yield projections within the PAY application, following SOP
  • Execute PAY account maintenance and new account onboarding activities per SOP
  • Identify, investigate, and support resolution of forecast inaccuracies and data issues, including: expected vs. actual income/yield analysis, data anomaly review, SMARTS book price analysis, PAY BI vs. PAY data reconciliations, and key metric monitoring
  • Produce scheduled and ad hoc reporting for PAY users, including yield forecast reporting, forecasted yield change attribution and commentary, canned PAY reports, custom scenario analyses, and other custom forecasts
  • Draft Section 19(a) Day 20 and Day 27 initial notice requirements and financial statement disclosures; prepare draft look-back analyses, key metrics, and commentary for PIMCO review/approval
  • Analyze and prepare monthly 19(a) notices and deliver to the Reg Doc team; monitor and back-test 19(a) expected vs. actual income per SOP
  • Draft and update Financial Reporting and Financial Statement 19(a) templates for PIMCO review/approval
  • Support PAY user and stakeholder inquiries by providing draft data analysis and security-level forecasting methodology support
  • Support portfolio management requests by providing security- and portfolio-level analysis that informs yield expectations and distribution impacts
  • Support PAIR/NEST oversight, Alternatives PAY activities, and related data monitoring/control checks as assigned

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or related discipline; or equivalent experience- progress toward an advanced credential (e.g., CPA/CFA) preferred.
  • 3+ years' experience in fund operations, fund accounting, yield/income reporting, performance analytics, or asset management; exposure to income forecasting and distribution yield concepts preferred.
  • Strong reconciliation and analytical skills, including ability to investigate forecast vs. actual variances, trace data issues, and document findings/actions in an SOP-driven environment.
  • Proficiency with Excel (including templates/macros) and comfort working with reporting/BI and operational workflow tools; ability to learn and operate within PAY and related internal applications (e.g., MySSB) as access is provided.
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills with experience drafting clear reporting, commentary, and stakeholder-ready analyses under deadline pressure.
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available
  • Ability to travel 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
