DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Customer Order Management Representative to join our team specializing in Supply Chain Planning for Cummins in Milano, Lombardia, Italy.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the Italy-based PowerGen Projects team, managing purchase requests, purchase orders, customer orders, and coordinating transportation and logistics for gensets and parts.
- Plan and organize the full order-to-delivery process, ensuring correct export/customs documentation, compliance with regulations, and on-time delivery to customer sites.
- Manage all Customer Order Management (COM) tasks for assigned PowerGen project accounts across Europe, supporting customers throughout the entire order lifecycle.
- Act as a single point of contact to customers, distribution centers, manufacturing sites, and cross-functional teams, ensuring accurate documentation and continuous communication.
- Investigate and resolve complex customer inquiries and escalations by leveraging system knowledge, process understanding, and detailed research, while maintaining accurate records.
- Support the transition of work into the new COM structure and participate in transformation activities to improve service delivery to the PowerGen group.
- Liaise with customers and manufacturing locations on quality issues by submitting non-conformance claims and supporting customer visits, reporting, and documentation requirements.
- Contribute to departmental improvement by understanding COM policies and metrics, preparing internal and external reports, and participating in or leading process improvement initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Experience in supply chain planning and customer-facing roles, with the ability to manage complex order processes and interact confidently with external stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills, able to coordinate multiple tasks, resolve issues proactively, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, skilled at building customer relationships, working across teams, and delivering clear, audience-focused communication.
- Proficient in English and MS Office tools (Excel, Word, etc.), with the technical capability to manage data, documentation, and system-based workflows effectively.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/ Experience:
- Experience in a supply chain planning position.
- Experience using ERP systems.
- Experience in a customer-facing role would be beneficial but is not mandatory.
