We are seeking a Data Architect, Master Data Management (MDM) to define, shape, and implement enterprise-wide data architecture with a strong focus on master data domains, governance, integration, and enterprise data flows. This role will partner closely with business stakeholders, enterprise architects, product teams, engineering teams, and other technology organizations to ensure business architecture is translated into scalable, governed, and future-ready data architecture solutions.
This is a high-impact role for someone who combines strategic thinking with hands-on architectural leadership. You will help design and govern how critical business data is structured, integrated, managed, and consumed across the enterprise, enabling trusted and reusable data foundations across global strategic programs.
About the Role- Define and evolve the enterprise MDM architecture strategy in alignment with business priorities, enterprise architecture standards, and digital transformation goals.
- Design scalable data architecture patterns for managing core and master data across domains such as customer, product, vendor, reference, organizational, and other critical enterprise entities.
- Translate business architecture, capabilities, and processes into data architecture, domain models, and end-to-end enterprise data flows.
- Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support MDM and broader enterprise data initiatives.
- Establish architecture principles, standards, and best practices for:
- Master data
- Reference data
- Metadata
- Data quality
- Data lifecycle management
- Collaborate with business teams, product owners, enterprise architects, application teams, data engineering teams, and governance partners on global strategic initiatives.
- Partner with stakeholders to define critical data entities, business rules, matching and merging logic, survivorship rules, stewardship processes, and consumption patterns.
- Architect and document end-to-end data flows across upstream and downstream systems, ensuring consistency, traceability, reuse, and quality.
- Design integration patterns for:
- Master data synchronization
- Event-based distribution
- API-driven access
- Batch pipelines
- Real-time data exchange
- Ensure alignment between MDM solutions and enterprise integration, analytics platforms, operational systems, and modern cloud data platforms.
- Embed data governance principles into architecture designs, including ownership, stewardship, lineage, controls, classification, and compliance requirements.
- Define and support frameworks for data quality, including profiling, standardization, deduplication, enrichment, monitoring, and issue remediation.
- Drive adoption of metadata management, lineage, and catalog capabilities to improve transparency and trust in enterprise data assets.
- Evaluate business and technical requirements and recommend target-state architecture solutions across cloud and enterprise platforms.
- Contribute to architecture roadmaps, reference architectures, capability assessments, and investment planning.
- Review solution designs and guide implementation teams to ensure adherence to architectural standards and long-term maintainability.
- Support strategic programs from discovery through implementation and operational transition.
- Identify opportunities to simplify the data landscape, reduce duplication, improve interoperability, and increase data reuse.
- Stay current on evolving technologies, architecture patterns, and MDM/data management trends, while mentoring team members and contributing to the broader architecture community of practice.
About You
- Significant experience in Data Architecture, with strong focus on Master Data Management (MDM) in complex enterprise environments.
- We are looking for Someone with 10-14 years of Experience.
- Proven ability to understand business capabilities and processes and translate them into data models, architecture blueprints, and enterprise data flows.
- Deep understanding of:
- Master data concepts and domain modeling
- Reference data management
- Data governance frameworks
- Metadata management
- Data lineage
- Data quality management
- Data integration patterns
- Data lifecycle and stewardship processes
- Experience designing architecture for enterprise-scale, globally distributed systems and strategic transformation programs.
- Hands-on or architecture-level expertise with one or more leading MDM platforms, such as:
- Enterworks
- Informatica MDM
- Semarchy
- Other comparable enterprise MDM technologies
- Experience with enterprise data management and governance tooling such as:
- Alation
- Manta
- Informatica data management/governance products
- Related tools for cataloging, lineage, governance, profiling, and quality
- Strong experience with Snowflake and modern cloud data platforms.
- Good understanding of cloud-native data architecture principles, including scalable storage, compute separation, secure data sharing, and governed data access.
- Experience integrating MDM and operational data platforms with analytical and enterprise data ecosystems.
- Strong data modeling skills across conceptual, logical, and physical layers.
- Experience with integration patterns including APIs, ETL/ELT, streaming/event-driven architectures, and middleware-enabled orchestration.
- Ability to produce high-quality architecture artifacts such as:
- Data architecture diagrams
- Data flow diagrams
- Domain models
- System interaction views
- Architecture decision records/documents
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to work effectively across global teams and influence decisions across business, product, engineering, governance, and architecture stakeholders.
- Experience supporting enterprise transformation and strategic initiatives in large organizations. Expertise in broader enterprise platform architecture across interconnected business ecosystems. Experience with enterprise platforms such as:
- Salesforce
- SAP
- Boomi
- Other ERP, CRM, and integration platforms
- Understanding of how MDM architecture interacts with customer, product, commercial, finance, and operational platforms.
- Familiarity with data security, privacy, retention, and regulatory considerations in global enterprises.
- Exposure to data product thinking, domain-driven design, and modern data operating models.
- Understanding of analytics and reporting consumption patterns for trusted master data.
- Experience in information services, technology services, or other large-scale, data-intensive global organizations.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred but not required.
